I called about a Cayenne diesel last week and the next day they raised the price $2000.
I agree it's a bad time to buy. |

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/off-topic-discussions/1094118-price-check-advice-aisle-2007-carrera-s.html The dealers in town have really limited inventory. No new Tacomas or Rangers, at least this past weekend. Granted, we are a 9 Iron from the edge of the Flat Earth, but trucks are the Maryland State Flower for f sake...it is just odd not to see 15 to 20 on the lot at any time. Some used trucks on the big used car lots, but all at a premium. Tractors as well. |

1. you live in Portland so are required to ride a bicycle and not drive (don't argue, I read all about it in PARF) 2. you have enough $$ to not care 3. you are deferring gratification, something that should be done by teens but isn't and shouldn't be done by older people but is - how's that? |
Only way I’d buy a car in this market is private party and find one that’s priced similar to where it would have been last year. You have to be fast and have cash in hand though when those deals pop up. That’s how I got my truck for about 10k under current market, dude priced it off kbb or some site that hadn’t adjusted yet and I found it within a half hour and was offering to PayPal a deposit and bring cash the next day. He was in a very remote part of the country and said he had 10 guys in line behind him.

An all-electric F-150 would be a great replacement.

MSRP on my Gladiator. So the answer seems to be, it depends. Used prices are up even more than new, so if you could find a fairly priced replacement new vehicle it might not be a bad deal to sell the used one and buy the new one if you were already thinking replacement. I sold my 2008 F250 for $2k more than I bought it for, 2 years and 30k miles later. |

I’m not buying anything but necessities for a while. Too much of the economy is in a bubble. I’d fix it and drive it if you like it.

That inflation that does not exist is a b1tch !

^ I know your stance on inflation, particularly when it relates to automobiles. I read your posts.
I was just having a laugh and giving you a hard time. |
Thing is, if it was a fun car then you suit up and wade into the fray. But for another Prius? Bag that.
|
Would a Prius be a fun car if it had a body conversion kit?
A Caterham 7, SS Jag or a 550 Spyder? Never mind. I just answered my own question. |

Check into the availability of a battery for your Prius, lots of items are experiencing shortages for various reasons. You would be much better suited to fix the Prius, and continue driving it for a year, that won't be money wasted. The car won't be much good to anyone with a dying battery.

What the hell kinda consumer are you? Worrying about spending more...pffft. Come on man buy...buy... buy...
You had the right answer in your first post and confirmed in less than 10. Fix it, drive it, wait for prices to come back down to earth. |
