So obviously never selling and to think I was only 30 when I first got the beast.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1623019074.jpg

Great plan and beautiful cars.

and i never said ide get out of porsche ownership due to salt.

But the thread is about getting out of Porsche ownership.

And your requirement to be on time for the judge doesn't make it special.
I show up on time for meetings just as well, that's not special. That's normal.

i think a great many people on this forum love to argue for the sake of arguing and you and especially cocker are two of them

i know what the thread is about

most normal people who have gotten out of porsche ownership are long gone from this forum and won’t be answering the op’s question because they are off enjoying their lives and not wasting time arguing with strangers

i was simply giving a scenario in which i could imagine getting rid of the vintage porsche….like if i lived in californian where i could safely keep just one car that happens to be a sports car and fulfills my need to drive sports cars. in that scenario, it would be a new cayman probably and the vintage 911 would be sold to finance the new cayman

in my current location this is not possible for me and so i’ll keep the old 911, despite what you and cocker think is possible. to the extent it is possible, i’m not willing to take that risk or expose an expensive sports car to salt

to live where i live and daily drive your one and only car that happens to be a new cayman, ide say your either wealthy enough that nothing really matters include getting to work, or a complete idiot. i’m neither of those things

Isn't that what most lawyers do in front of a Judge, argue for the sake of arguing (or billing)? Even when they know their customer is guilty and probably won't win?

ramonesfreak 06-25-2021 04:23 AM

yes but this isnt court and your not the judge and you certainly arent paying me so i dont know what your point is. I didnt come to this thread to argue. i never come here to argue. i come here to comment, make a suggestion, give a perspective, or have a conversation....mostly i just read threads because i occasionally learn something or find some entertainment in it

And at some point you think of yourself in a certain way, as in 'I own Porsches'. Moving away from that self-image takes bold steps, as there is no going back.

This^^
It’s also rare to possess the tools, the space, the time, the knowledge, the $$, and finally the desire to work on them all in equal measure. At most points in my life I’ve lacked at least one. But it’s been part of who I am for so many years I’m not sure how I’d feel if my toys were gone. Thankfully I don’t need to find out.

I am guilty of owning perfectly good cars and letting them languish, or worse, deteriorate.

And still I can't bring myself to sell them.
