Ferrari Commercial
I saw something I never thought I'd see - a TV ad for a Ferrari. It's for the Roma, which is probably one of the better looking Ferraris in a long time. Still, SUVs and now a commercial...

Is there not a waiting list for this car so they now have to advertise?

Commercial needs less music...and more engine/exhaust sound.

It's as if Ferrari built a Chevy Camaro for the Euro-trash set.

For sure.
And dang, I hate driving my brand new Ferrari in the streets of Rome when there is no traffic as always, and coming across another car just like mine, driven by a pretty girl. It happened just last week to me too!

Maybe I'm getting old, but my first thought was "where are all of the overweight tourists clogging the streets?". Also, in what world can you simply pull up on the side of the road and by a book like that, there's no parking there! I guess I need to re-aquaint myself with "suspension of disbelief"

I get those same looks driving the M491 around but with thumbs ups too. Maybe those are on the cutting room floor for the commercial.

They should have hired Wes Anderson (or Jim Jarmusch) to direct

Fantastic looking car!
Considering the current competition the commercial isn't all that surprising. - and we're not their target demographic.

A lotta reasons.
You'll notice it never went over the performance figures. This isn't about the racer types. It is also about a long term strategy. It is also targeted to plant female reaction to the brand. My problem with it is the editing, shot movement, etc, makes it look fake. In a lot of the shots, it is as if the car wasn't actually there. Which as a car guy, kinda dissapoints me. |
