The sad thing is the gymnastic federation scored that vault lower than it should be, as a base score. Her final score should be higher just on that but the federation is not always fair. In all honesty, I think they are trying to slow her down in her progression of obtaining new skills because she is so far ahead.

Typically if a gymnast completes a move in a competition for the first time ever of anyone, it is named after them. She has two different moves called "The Biles". I'm not sure how the gymnastics federation is going to handle her continued growth in the sport

Yurchenko was a male gymnast. Simone is the first woman to do it in competition.
