Clarkson's Farm on Amazon Prime

Anyone started watching this?

I'm up to episode 3 and very entertaining

It's all about Jeremy Clarkson managing his 1000 acre farm in the Cotswolds which is only a few miles from my house

We have Amazon Prime but I'd have to re-figure out how to get on our TV. I've done it before, but, my memory isn't what it used to be and my system isn't, shall we say, user friendly.
He's the guy from Top Gear isn't he?
Doesn't strike me as a farmer type of guy.

You need a Firestick or a game console or some kind of streaming player. Also you can connect your laptop or tablet directly to your TV via an HDMI cable. Then, switch your TV to HDMI mode and you should see your tablet or laptop screen mirrored on the TV.

Log in and you're off to the races.

Yes, he is the big fella from Top Gear

He bought the farm in 2008 and when his farm manager retired he's taken on the managing himself

The program has a the odd Top Gear type moment but it's a much more informative show

I think I used a Chrome stick or whatever. My system runs thru my stereo so it's not easy to hook up directly. My son walked me thru it last year.

That could be taken the wrong way. But I know what you mean.;)

Does he have a Porsche tractor?

Sebscst 06-12-2021 03:31 PM

He hated 911’s even destroyed a long hood in an old episode. He probably has a Lamborghini tractor.

My 10 year old binge watched it yesterday… he started watching it with me last night.

If it does nothing else but show joe public what it takes to grow the food in their table, it is good in my books.

This farming thing ain’t for for pussies…

Is it like this?

Uncle Billy approved, that's good enough for me!

I'm finding it very interesting, really enjoying his dealings with some of the local characters and learning a huge amount too

Agree, farming it a tough job

Lambo tractor.

In an episode of Harry's Garage, he mentioned he had borrowed the Alfa he was featuring, "from a farmer up the road. "
In a later episode he revealed the Alfa was Clarkson's. :D

Best

I think it would be fun to have an episode where Tim Allen helps Clarkson increase the BHP of his tractor.

Seahawk 06-13-2021 05:17 AM

Thanks for the heads up on this!

Even though I am not familiar with the crops on his farm, animals, etc., a 1000 acres is no joke to manage, even with help.

This should be fun.

GH85Carrera 06-13-2021 07:04 AM

Thanks for the heads up. I will watch it for sure.

unclebilly 06-13-2021 09:17 AM

What surprises me is the comments that his tractor is ‘too big’. For 1000 acres, it seems about right. I know farming in the UK is different from here but there is no practical way he could do it with a smaller machine. That seed drill is microscopic compared to the airseeders we run here. He needs more drill, not less tractor.
