Well said. Clarkson is very funny, the two fellows who help him are a hoot. My family has farmed for over 100 years here in California. I'm farming part time trying to keep a small orchard going. It's not for everyone.

Thank goodness for closed captions! That fellow repairing his rock walls is hilarious.

Tried to visit Diddly Squat farm shop this afternoon

We bailed as the traffic queue was too long so drove up the road to Burford and had an ice cream instead

I couldn't figure out what Gerald was talking about even with subtitles.

I would love a bottle of his water with the label, no s**t in this water.

My wife and I watched them all very entertaining and educational.

I loved how he tries to diversify, the Wasabi idea was brilliant, execution, not so much :)

Binge watched last weekend. Gerald is my favorite. He reminds me of the Wurzels "combine tractor" song

No Potato for you!

I watched the bloopers on YouTube last night. Doesn't look like the actual show in on YouTube, just clips and interviews I think.

Finished watching the series last night. Great show! It kind of reminds me of what we did on a much, much, much smaller scale when we moved here. Within months we had planted an orchard, plowed a quarter acre garden, hauled in tons of cow manure, and planted perennials like berries and asparagus. (That’s in addition to remodeling the house.)
After three years we have things pretty well sorted, but watching Clarkson trying to do everything at once was like deja vu all over again.

I just finished watching the series. Good show. It was cool to see the return of the Bentley in all it's glory. The "Good Fellas" simulation when making the tomato sauce for the store was funny. Overall, I enjoyed the show. Gerald was hilarious and Lisa is a nice looking Irish gal for sure, tall she is!!!

I was so upset after watching, no Kartrashians, Cardi B, twerking, WAP songs! /S

I really liked the episode when the kid went to London. I think this is the best series outside of the Grand Tour since James May, our Man in Japan. And Gerald is pure gold. Say what you want about Clarkson, but he did go check on Gerald.

Not really that interested in Clarkson on a farm. He is riding the coat tail of success from Top Gear and Grand Tour and while he can be entertaining, its a bit empty without Hammond and May.

Think Seinfeld after it ended and together the cast were brilliant, the solo efforts not as much.

It is a good show, try it, you will like it. If nothing else as an American it is fascinating and interesting to see how different the farms are in England. Just very different than American farming. Everyone tells him his tractor is too big, yet it is a little one for American style of farming.

It is funny to see the silly government regulations he has to follow. I know our farming regulations are screwy, but few American farmers would follow those rules.

It is an interesting year in the life of Clarkson, and many funny moments. Well worth watching.

Which regulations did you find silly? The rules about what he can sell in his store seemed ridiculous to me.

GH85Carrera 06-28-2021 07:10 AM

The strangest is he had to list every single crop he planted, and exactly how much. That and the book listing every single injury, even a scraped knuckle or or paper cut.

rusnak 06-28-2021 10:56 AM

Or the part when they said if he built a pond, he'd be arrested and put in prison. They actually SAID that.
