Beware Vroom

I had posted on here back in March-April about purchasing a car online, VROOM. Buying and delivery went easy. Now, cannot get a title or tag. VROOM had me pay up front, $2985.00. In Oklahoma, usually about a 30 day process. I am now 90 days out with them sending me another 30 day temp tag, meaning going 120 days. Customer Service says delayed because of covid, I say BS. Anyone have any ideas?
Will call the OK DMV tomorrow to see if they can help. That will be my first and last purchase of a car online. Rant over.

I had a similar issue with a Vroom purchase but their customer service went above and beyond to get it fixed, even refunded some of what I paid and sent me a $250 visa gift card for my inconvenience. Hope they work out your issue.

I would say it's most likely a DMV issue, and COVID may very well be to blame. Tags have been considerably slower here, and it's 100% DMV. Our DMV system changed recently (none of the employees are happy with it), and when my daughter bought a car, she got another temp plate that was good for a YEAR(!) near the end of when her temp plate would have expired. Real plate came a week later.

Aren't temp tags better than permanent ;) ?

COVID basically doubled DMV processing time in CA from about one month to two. Why not just go with the flow?

Took me 6 months to get plates. Definitely a DMV issue. Drove around with expired temp tags forever, even got pulled over once for excessive acceleration, lol. He didn't even flinch at the expired tags.

Yup, me too. Got the new Taco last October, didn't get tags until Feb.

Took me 6 months for plates and 7 for the title. COVID did it.

A couple of months ago, I made an appointment at our local DMV and two hours later, I walked out with taxes paid, registration and a new plate.

Bought a new-to-me Tundra a few weeks ago. Earliest I could get a DMV appointment was June 17 at 0845.

Walked in about three minutes ahead of my scheduled time, where a very polite young LEO printed my ticket. I was called to the window in less than a minute.

Passed my paperwork to the helpful woman on the other side of the glass and waited while she did whatever it is they do back there. She gave me the fee amount for title transfer, tax and registration. It took me about a minute to write out the check, after which she had me confirm the accuracy of what she'd entered, thengave me my new paperwork and tags. I bid her good day, she reciprocated, and I was back in my new truck at 0849 ... no scheisse!
