All that commotion in "my woods" ...
Not my woods, but behind my house.... deer, etc. they thrive. Heard (and caught a glimpse of) at dawn what was probably a bobcat a few days ago, and something set off my Lab alarm as she was back there two days ago mid-day.... first time for that. She's not a barker... just a chaser
. Put out some game cams. Yesterday .... just after noon, one captured what I think she saw. She won't bark at a deer, but I think she came across a fawn (or two) bedded down. The cam captured a doe walking by with two spotted fawns trailing her... couldn't have been more than a few weeks old. I'm pretty sure those fawns elicited the yappy dawg reaction, and probably why the bobcat was nearby too.Fawns are SO cool ....A few years back, on my rural property, I spotted one bedded down just a few feet behind me in the woods behind a pond I was fishing... didn't move the whole time I was at that spot.... at least an hour. They don't bother me and I don't bother them.... but now the predator behind my house had better find a different buffet line.... or else . Don't think it was a cat or 'yote from the glimpse I got .... just be gone!
