"Line Of Duty" on Prime/Hulu anyone ??

Wife read rave reviews about it so we tried it.. now have watched all 5 seasons over the past 3 weeks and waiting on season 6.
British police procedural with great writing / casting and plot lines. IMO on the level of The Sopranos and The Wire.. Lots of twists and damn, we never saw that coming surprises.
AND I didn't have to turn on closed captioning to understand it.

Lenny James (Walking Dead) is the "bent copper" in season 1. Memorable line: "If you take a shot at the king son you damn well better kill him".

Quote from "The Guardian":

"Jed Mercurio’s breathlessly tense thriller has torn up the rulebook on what police procedurals can and should look like. Its shock-horror twists, gasp-inducing cliffhangers and willingness to bump off any character at any moment have turned it into one of television’s most gripping blockbusters. Over the course of seven years, it has provided the nation with some spectacular TV talking points, from the front page did-she-or-didn’t-she saga of Lindsay Denton, played with memorable ambiguity by Keeley Hawes, to the rotting arm of Thandie Newton’s increasingly desperate DCI Roz Huntley. “You’re watching brilliant actors come in, and watching them die,” says Dunbar. “Daniel Mays, Jason Watkins, Jessica Raine, coming in and doing really intense stuff for one or two episodes – it’s an incredible show for that sort of thing. You just hang on for the ride, and it’s been amazing.”

You might give it a try if you've nothing else going..

Also waiting for the next season and love the series. "Bent Copper" has become a familiar term around here.
Prime/Brit Box have some amazing shows.

The new season of "Line of Duty" is now available.... unfortunately it is only available for streaming on "BRITBOX" at the moment. Going to try to binge watch on the 7 day free trial.

One of the best cop shows on the tube..

Love it. "Bent Copper" has become a frequently used term here too.

Will check out the new season tonight since we wrapped up Bosch last night.

Line of Duty is good. One of the best in recent years.
I'm now on Endeavour.

Unfortunately, season 6 is only available on BritBox (for now anyway). 1-5 had all been streamed on Amazon Prime.

I watched season one. Interesting story, weird kinda sorta conclusion.

And just for the record, I HATE hate hate the the stupid hand held bounce around camera style. When the scene is shot in a office, there is no reason to have the camera man bouncing around like a total drunk standing on a water bed. Hold the dang camera still!

Made it 20 minutes into the first episode and pulled the plug. Between the whispered and fast dialogue in English brogues, I’d have had no idea what was going on without closed captioning on.

No thanks.
