The WWII 60cm German Searchlight

Absolutely amazing. (They start it up and show its effectiveness at night)

Trust me on this... If you're into WW2 history this is worth your time.

Yes green font but they lost they day they invaded Poland.

The one thing I've never been able to understand - What made them think they could ever win?

They certainly are. BTW: The Australian Army AS1 Leopard tanks came equipped with a MG3 Machine Gun.

The MG3 is basically a rebarreled version of the World War Two German MG42 machine gun.

I had a BMW K100RT and after owning it for a couple years and putting 100k commuting to work in So Cal, I thought it really wasn't a good layout

buzzy engine, my right fingers would go numb

so much for the Legendary Motorcycles from Germany

Very cool thanks for sharing Peter.

They used to have a few WWII search lights in my town back in the 70's. I guess they were left over from the naval training bombing base or for the air raids? Anyway they would use those just as Hollywood did to signal a big event going on. It was cool to see the light s light up the sky.

The US was allied with Nationalist China under Chang kai Shek. Not Mao.

The USSR lost 20m people during ww2..it was their blood that won ww2.

Your sense of history lacks a certain something called knowledge..and this is what you base your weltgelselshaft upon..if this is the standard upon which Americans base their decision it is no wonder why America has become a loser nation.

If you look at the early years they were winning. Much like Japan for a while. Hitler was an idiot and declared war on the USA, and that was not his dumbest decision. With the USA beyond his reach and our industrial might we supplied enough war material to our all of our allies, and fought Japan and Germany at the same time we developed the nuclear bomb.

Not quite mate...Hitler lost the day he declared war on the USA IN 12/41. That is according to Winny Churchill at the time.

Ze Germans took out France, Beligium, Holland and sent the Brits packing in 3 weeks in May of 40.

In early 40 The Handbook of War was published that showed that USA alone had greater industrial production than Germany and Japan put together. Japan lost the day they dropped a bomb on Pearl in 41..their production was miniscule. Because of Germanys greater productio capablity the US and Brits decided on Germany first.

The flaw in the argument is if Germany remained at peace with the UssR instead of invading they could have continued to purchase oil from them. They then could have taken the Brits outa the war by pursuing a Med policy of closing the Suez Canal.

Hitlers original intent was to conquer Russia so that Germany could have Lebenstrum to become a great empire..sic a 1000 year Reich. He did not want or intend to go to war witb Britain in.particular and that is why he hesitated in invading France in early 40. They.call that period of late 39..early 40 the Phony War.

Hitler under estimated the USSR..partially based upon how badly they fared against Finland in the short winter war of late 39 early 40. Hitler later said if he had known that the USSR had 10000 tanks he never would have invaded.

Hitler was pathological and that in the end was the cause of his downfall.

All true but IMO after Pearl Harbour the US entering the war in Europe was inevitable regardless of what Hitler did.

BTW: Modern Germans are taught that they wouldn't have a country if it wasn't for Churchill.
