Experience selling an RV?

I have a 2019 Thor 28z Class C RV with 18k miles on it, it’s immaculate and still smells like new car. KBB says 75k for it, but I’m looking for less since I don’t have any service records. The reason I don’t have any records is that it’s never needed service.

Is it a hot market for RV’s right now? Or should I wait? I own it outright, but it’s just sitting aging at this point so I would like to sell it. Craigslist? RV Trader?

Don't wait...jump on making an add, and selling it this week while people are still planning camping trips (before Winter). The RV market won't get any hotter next year after the stimulus money has dried up, and people are forced back to work, and aren't afraid to gather in large groups (concerts, sporting events).

Do you have a RV dealership near you that will sell it on consignment ? They get lots of foot traffic and obviously that foot traffic is looking for an RV increasing your odds of selling . Plus it eliminates you having to deal with the tire kickers and douche bags .

If that is not an option then use any media that is available near you . CL/Facebook Marketplace/local paper etc would be a start . If you get some traffic at your house put it in the driveway or yard with a for sale sign. Good luck

This was a while ago, and the landscape has changed, but I sold my Class B Roadtrek on eBay. I put a reserve of $20k on it and all I got was a bunch of douche nozzles telling me I'll never get that much and making $10K offers. I relisted it with no reserve and sold it for $19500.
I would try CL for a week or so. I've had incredible success buying and selling things on Craig's List. You have to be prepared for idiots, because they're out there, but I've always had good outcomes.
I don't use Facebook Marketplace but MrsWD has had success on that platform. She sold her EQ long arm quilting machine for $3000 last month and bought a 1940 Elna sewing machine yesterday for $125! (It's a $500 machine)

The RV market for trailers and motorhomes was really hot curing COVID and may still be. Our neighbors were looking for a used trailer and finally found one a few hundred miles away. They were not that picky either. I suspect it will go back to more of a normal market as things get back to normal. Now's the time to sell.

There will never be an easier time. I'm in small town Wisconsin near a large RV dealer. Last summer, the lot was full to the borders with mostly new RVs, some used. This summer, it looks like an abandoned business with some scattered inventory left over. Just amazing.

The Ford dealer across the street is almost the same. No new Super Duty trucks on the lot, last summer there were plenty. This is the shortage year, it won't last.

You won’t have any trouble selling it. I wouldn’t worry about it service records and I certainly wouldn’t discount the price for not having them.

Clean it up, take some decent photos and price it according the market, not KBB. It’ll sell quick.


Post it in FB marketplace and Craigslist.

Agree with others, like used cars the RV market is crazy right now.

Sorry late to this thread. I had a similar request a 'while' back. Market is obviously different today so I don't think you will have issues selling it. I successfully sold my Dad's RV from Criags list after going through a few tire kickers. Posting on CL (or similar I suppose) will gather local RV dealerships offering low ball offers. I priced the RV about 8K over my bottom line and when the deal was struck they were appreciative that I was willing to work with them.

It's my second, and my kid is now on a travel hockey team, he's dedicated to hockey now and doesn't like camping anymore.

So to close out this thread I sold the RV today for the full asking price. I used RV trader in the end it was $54 for the listing. The seller is requesting a through cleaning inside before they take possession. It sits on a farm so it’s pretty dusty. I thought we did a pretty good job cleaning it but we will give it the super clean I guess.

What sold it for this individual was the low miles, only 18,500.
