Test drive a Tesla today, then ate at Shake Shack.

First the Tesla was fun. If I could find the exact opposite of the cars I’ve had and experienced in my life, it would be a Tesla. You almost feel like you should take a shower before driving the thing. The interior is crispy clean. It’s like furniture. The car is smart. I was blown away how it’s paying attention o our surroundings. It beeped gently at me to let me know the light turn green. Nuts.

It’s fast. I didn’t go for the gusto, but I got on it and it was fast.

And then my first shake-shack burger. Damn that thing is good. It’s tiny and expensive. But good. Really good. I’m glad the only locations are super far away.

Hahaha. Not the location I was at. Everyone had their pinkie poking out while holding the burger.

I went to 7-11 about midnight to get a snack and parked next to a Tesla suv. The young man getting into the pax side told me, "Sir, you have a very nice Porsch." I said thank you. I was wearing a beanie with no white hair showing. Did I lok that old that he called me sir?

Anyway, when I came back, the Tesla was still there. Then I hear a weird humming and it reversed and left. What a weird sound. Kind of otherworldly.

There are a couple of new Toyota Highlander Hybrids in the neighborhood and I noticed they make a really annoying sound when backing up, and it's not like it's a warning sound either.

Yea it only does that in reverse, heck if I know why. It’s like the sound a flying saucer would make.

Yes, that was the exact sound. A flying saucer.

My wife loves her model Y as I've said on here several times. I like that it has four doors like a family car, has lots of storage in the back, I don't have to change oil or any other fluids, or generally fool with engine, trans, or any other drive train parts. It seems to have pretty good aerodynamics - you can drive with the windows down without too much buffeting. On the negative side, it's heavy, rides like a rock with wheels, although decent on good roads, & I'll try to buy tires with less road noise when the time comes. On balance, it was a good purchase, especially since the solar panels will pay for most of the power.
I've never eaten at a Shake Shack.

A marketing ploy by Shake Shack; having naked girls jelly wrestling in the street outside. Ha, as if a grown man like me would go along for a bit of a look see.

That’s the pedestrian alert sound that’s required on EV since late 2019. On Teslas the flying saucer sound is the default but it can be changed.

Thanks. During COVID pickup and ordering was touchless so I didn’t get to ask a lot of questions. You just go to your numbered stall sign the paperwork in the car and drop it in a slot.

EV manufacturers make their cars make noise to warn pedestrians. Our 2017 Volt makes a weird flying saucer like sound when it is moving at under 35 mph.
