BBQ is a funny thing, it’s easy to be disappointed, in my experience. I actually grew up with at least two fantastic BBQ joints in Minneapolis, Rudolph’s and Market BBQ. Rudolph’s is long gone but not soon enough, it somehow went from a 10 to about a 2 in its final years. :(

Pretty sure that Memphis has the best BBQ joints in the world. Rendezvous being the top of the heap but it’s a competitive scene.

The problem is that like anything else, you get crazy famous and eventually you coast. Franklin's not there yet, and hope he doesn't, b/c he shares knowledge and is a hardworking mf. Hopefully fame doesn't change that.

Funny somewhat related story.

So my daughter is at Wash U in St Louis

A couple of weeks back we were all in FL together and a couple of her friends who live there came up to hang out at the house and go swimming.

I ordered in Chinese.

She calls me last week asking the name of the place because one of her friends really liked the food.

The subject of "foods that places are known for" came up, TX BBQ, NY Pizza, Bagels, etc....

She says, totally seriously mind you "yeah, St Louis is not known for anything. But we do have good ribs." :rolleyes:

Ribs sweetheart, St Louis is known for ribs, it's a style all it's own. You need to get out more.
