Project Binky has a three cylinder (?) race car build series. Not for me, but it's an interesting video series.

I think the car you might be referring to is the GR Yaris.3 cylinder turbo with stiffer bushings in the suspension and subframes. Basically a homoligated rally car.
Check out the video about it on Harry's Garage about a month back.

You can use Gazoo if you're discussing Paris - Dakar, too!

Les gets what this car is about and there hasn't been anything like this on the market for years and years

It's already sold out here in the UK with some changing hands for more than new price.

Very few new cars come along that I really would love to buy and this is one of them

I'm big fan of Toyota's, they've excelled themselves with this car, even thinking of selling my 964 C2 to buy one for driving around the Alps

Not a slow car, not much would keep up with it on a twisty, mountain road come sun, rain, snow or ice

Maybe not....

£33.5k or $46.3k with Circuit Pack (front/rear LSD, sportier ride, bigger brakes, forged wheels, less infotainment)

UK deal here is
£9K DEPOSIT, 2YRS 0% £299/month with 10yrs/100k miles warranty if serviced by Toyota

Fantastic value for a hand build rally homologation special, it's been a long time since a new car like this has been for sale

Here in the UK and most of Europe have gone mad over it

Gawd, I'm an old man. I can't take that. Even sitting in front of the computer with a nice pinot in my hand it was still too fast LOL

Looking forward to the report!

Here in NZ certain people were "invited" to show an interest. I still don't think they are available to walk in and buy.

..Interesting. Unlikely I'll never own one, but I like seeing this stuff being developed. Motorsports breeds innovation, which eventually trickle's down to the everyday car. I like the emphasis on light-weight. They really should build way more than 25,000.

Took one out today for a 30mins test drive, was so much fun I brought it back an hour later

Felt like the perfect car for twisty back country or mountain roads without needing to do stupid speeds to get into the fun zone

Rock solid feel with the stiff shell, suspension very complainant, not a harsh ride at all, with front and rear LSD's dry grip was impressive, never got close to feeling it squirm, brake and steering felt good

A lot of performance for a small engine, sounded a bit Audi Quattro like with just enough turbo whoosh to keep you smiling while being noise social responsible

I really, really want one!

I had a 116D bmw 4 banger
then went to a 116ED that turned out to be a 3 banger

On paper it had as much hp and torque
it had a nice engine sound
But it felt gutless compared to the 116 4 bangr

next one, by then the 118D was also a 3 banger, i got me a 120D which was still a 4 banger.

a 2 banger? car?? That is just wrong.
That's a 2CV

Toyota does have many fine race cars, but their racing department sure needs a PR firm to get them some better names.

Toyota Racing Development = TRD on the sides of vehicles. Sorry but TRD to my brain comes up turd every-time.

Then Gazoo racing? Well, it is memorable. The Great Gazoo or simply Gazoo is a fictional character from The Flintstones animated series. The name sounds like a Kazoo the silly musical instrument. Just not a serious name.

Whatever, they are a better racing team than many others. Just hire an adviser for naming the team.

Well it's a Japanese team Gazoo means something like garage for very detailed and high end work in Japanese

so the name is something like Toyota SuperWorks Racing
It has NOTHING todo with American cartoons.

I'm sure the Jap car loving fanbase loves it.
