2021 Porsche Macan Discount

Given shortages; standard discounts seem to have gotten murky.....

We bought my wife's Macan through USAA. If you are a member they have a buying program. It saved us a few grand off of sticker.

I thought I'd heard that Porsche didn't do discounts. But then I've never bought a new Porsche, and I'm not likely to start any time soon so I haven't looked into it.

They only give discounts when competing with a Ford Explorer dealer at half the sticker price.

I'd be surprised of any discount. We've been Panamera shopping and two dealers said no discount.

One dealer was selling a used Cayenne for more than it was new and someone was buying it while we were there.

There will never be a discount from Porsche as a manufacturer. The dealer can certainly deal a little and often they mark up cars above sticker, and they can discount them is the don't mind less profit. Most know they can sell all the cars they can get and they have little or no incentive to deal.

Why would anybody be discounting high end cars at a time where there's a chip shortage causing supply problems to high end and even not so high end car manufacturers?

Congrats. If you keep for a long time my advice would be to service the PDK and change the oil more frequently than the factory service intervals. My wife's 2015 S had a PDK failure at 70k. We bought CPO and it had all recommended services and it was maintained very well by the one PO. They are amazing vehicles to drive and well built fit/finish wise. Hers still looks brand new.
