Problem with my PC shutting down.....Solved

I like to download lists of music from You Tube and then use AVS software to assemble them into a 2 to 3 hour movie. Over the past several months I would start the assembly process and when I came back later the PC would be shut down? At first I thought it was running out of disk space but that wasn't the case. So I thought maybe high temp shutdown? I downloaded a great utility that shows the temp in each core (8 total) and records if the max temp gets hit, sure enough that was it. The PC is 2 1/2 years old so I went and got a tube of the heat transfer paste. Shutdown, unplug, and pull the cooling towner/fan off the CPU. Pulled the CPU and wiped the dried paste off both surfaces, reinstalled the CPU then put on an "X" of the paste and clamped the cooling tower/fan back on.

The ASUS motherboard thought it was a new CPU but no so I just went with the default BIOS settings like I did before. Now temps are 30 degrees lower than before when assembling a new movie and NO shutdowns!

What are you using for YT d/l?

I'm using VideoDownloadHelper but won't install the 'external app'.
It stopped working a few updates ago.
Haven't found one that works so far.

I use a program named "4K Video Downloader". It does individual videos or can do a list and so far most lists are 25 videos although I have seem several with 30 or 40 videos. As for Chinese, Japanese or Korean it will use their language as the file name.

I use a program named "Bulk Rename Utility" since the assembler software wants ASCII character file names. So something like "夜空/情難忘-Saxruby(Gm key)" becomes "Sax Ruby Gm key".

I had laptop slowdowns a few years ago. Fine when first turned on, after a while could not stream videos. Downloaded a fanspeed/temp program and found two issues. A bios or system update was not turning on the fan(s), and I had to renew the thermal paste and pads.

My AMD X8 CPU came with a liquid cooled fan assembly that clamped on top. The fan was running fine except for dust built up on the blades and the other 3 fans also had a dust build up and it was all removed. There is a fan on top which is the exhaust, a fan in the back and a fan on the power supply box and all are running fine. I had them set to auto start but six months or so ago I went into the BIOS and turned them all on.

The saving software I mentioned is named 4K Video Downloader and their website is "www.4kdownload.com" and it can do either single files or one of the lists that You Tube will make for you. I use these videos to help me sleep because of my cancer treatment (3rd time) and usually make a 2 to 3 hour movie. Software like VLC video player can play a song such as "2019林家花園 周穎小提琴獨奏會 梁祝小提琴協奏曲" but my Roku box can't handle them? So I convert the name to ASCII characters and combine them which beats sleeping pills as band like The Ahleris Band or artists like Jo A Ram or Sungha Jung really are relaxing.

You can also use software like Handbrake (free) to strip out the sound track and save as a MP3 music file and play them in my trucks hard drive.

Clipgrab will let you pull just the audio track so you could queue up a list with duplicate entries but different save options and get everything in one shot.
