$130,000 for a G-SHOCK?

The luxury watch world is officially nuts.

- I like to think I have an open mind but the asking price for some of these watches is truly staggering.
And there's no shortage of buyers.

But considering what's happened with Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies should we be surprised?

The blue "plastic" one near the end is half a million. It fell off my radar screen right away but is easy to look at.

"The blue "plastic" one" is about 3 or 4 times its retail price!

There are indeed a lot of people with way too much money.

I saw one of the sponsors on an F1 car that I did not recognize and looked at their web site. Wow, watches that were 100K and up. It must me nice to be so wealthy that a 100K for a watch is no big deal at all.

BS.

I saw the exact same Casio at Walmart for $13.95.

Seriously, for that money I'm not buying that techie POS. I'll take a new Rolex Daytona, and change.

Hahah. Nice. You should find a kid to do it for you old guy.

No way in hell that I'd pay remotely that much money for a G-shock. 18kt solid gold? WTF, that's idiotic. Stainless or Titanium, ok, sure, but a G-shock as jewelry?

Love my G-shock, but, um, err, it was only a few hundred.

I couldn't believe one of those things could cost even $250. I was shocked when my buddy bought one for $1K.

My business partner sometimes works as a co-pilot on a Learjet 31. His buddy is the pilot and he will fill in when the regular co-pilot has some conflict.

The owner recently wanted them to take the local family to NYC, for three days to visit the family there, and then take the family in NYC as well to Cancun for a week. My business partner was paid for each day away, and all expenses paid except alcohol.

That cost the owners way more than a 130K watch and it is all just memories and some pictures now. They stayed at really nice condos in Cancun.

It is just pocket money to some people.

IMO at some point there will be a correction and whole bunch of stupid rich people will get burnt.

The same thing has begun to happen with Modern Art.

But does it matter? Not to them apparently.
