Tokyo Olympics
Today is the final day...and I have barely watched any of it.
Other years..I've watched as much as possible. One evening I watched MLB instead...crazy. Has anyone else been interested in it this year?

Yes, I watched quite a bit of it. Since our daughter lives over there it was interesting to see from a weather standpoint. The heat and humidity is brutal according to our daughter. There were some impressive performances based on that alone.

I wanted to watch womens gymnastics to see Simone perform.
When she dropped out...I lost interest.

I watched quite a bit but had to stop after a wrist injury.
Tokyo managed to hold the games and made it a success. Hats off to them. |

Time differences made it hard.
I DVR'd the stuff I like to watch, nearly all track and field events. I have zero interest in Olympic soccer, basketball, volleyball, tennis, golf, etc.. men or women. Allyson Felix made the Olympics, the parts I watched, for me. That and the young lady from Wisconsin that earned the bronze in the marathon. You, the people you are performing against and the clock. I love it.

Seeing all the empty seats in the various venues raised a question. Were some, or maybe most, of these sites built specifically to host Olympic events? Will they be demolished once the games are over, or will they be re-purposed for some other use?

I enjoy the field events (I was a 4 year track star), but shy away from the judged competitions.

I watched most of it. I really liked Rugby7s, and 3x3 basketball. Didn't understand Skateboard Street. And those Japanese skateboarders were something else! The women's Skateboard Park Gold, Silver and Bronze were 19, 12, and 13!

I watched it as much as I could, I love the olympics except the woke crap, and games judged on “feelings”. Too bad about the time difference as I missed a lot. I wish there was a better way to watch, as I really wanted to see combat sports and only got to see boxing once.
Congrats Canada for a great performance.

Haven't been places with a TV much lately.
Saw what was probably replays of some pedal bike stuff with rythym sections and jumps. Saw some coverage where the talking heads were telling how unfair it was that a group of players that in reality get payed more, were getting payed less in this fantasy news land. Personally some of my favourite olympics are in the winter, various skate races especially. |

I didn't watch very much of the games. I enjoyed the Bob Costas recap though. He didn't have my full attention, but it seemed to me that he ripped into Biles. Maybe I misinterpreted what he was trying to convey.

as an old scrummer I really enjoyed watching the 7's!
I was wondering how Tokyo will make up for or even survive the loss of revenue from having no ticket sales, no hotel bookings and no merch sales.
