Live music shows ... do you sit or stand?
I'm a "stander" (for the vast majority of shows), many times never even putting my butt in a seat I might have a ticket for. How about y'all?
I also member a Nascar race years ago in Richmond... went to my seat once ... spent most of the race just walking around the track at the fence. I don't know how many miles I walked that night ... a bunch ![]() '....cause I'm a wanderer" |

Opera, symphony, jazz or heavy metal?
Regardless…I’m guessing whoever has the seats behind you probably doesn’t see it exactly the same.

^^^ Rock, blues, hippie jam band, etc. I don't stand in front of anyone (at my seat) blocking anyone else either. There are always places to stand... so I usually go find them.

Depends on the people in front of me. Same goes for sporting events.

Get off my lawn!

My wife and I went with some other friends to see the Moody Blues. The audience was a sea of grey hair, and most everyone sat down.
We when to see ZZ Top a couple of years ago, and we sat in the nose bleeds with the sitters, lots of folks up front dancing and of course standing.

Just to clarify, I don't stand where my seat is located. That's not what I'm talking about. For example .... a rock show at "an outdoor shed" with assigned seats near the front, and mostly lawn (open areas) in the rear. I'll have a ticket up front (with friends), but never really use my seat... I'll end up standing in front of a column, etc. ... to be clear, I'm always conscious about not blocking anyone else... not cool either.

Last two concerts, sit in a booth (Samantha Fish) and stand near the stage (Buckethead). So it depends.

Depends on the show....
I'll sit at Diana Krall, I'll stand at The Who. Gotta be cognizant of the surroundings. |

Absolutely depends upon the venue and performer. I've sat front row a few feet in front of Stanley Jordan at a local sit down Theater with chairs in the pit.... jaw dropping awesome.
I rarely did that tho'.... Similar local Theater a few years layer ... NO STANDING! I had two tix for a Neville Bro. show when they were in their prime ... asked a friend I knew to go. NB hit the stage.... a couple I knew from the blues society exited their seat and went to the front ... we were next... by the end of the first song the pit was a funky dance floor ![]() That was our "first real date" btw .... we prolly saw a thousand shows together ((mostly clubs, small venues) over time... but I wouuld not sit at most of them ![]() |

Early on in dating my now wife took her to a Clapton show.
Scored floor seats around the 7th row. Figured she’d be excited. We get to the seats and i’m like “aren’t these great?” expecting glowing praise. She says, not really. Then the show started, everyone stood up, i looked at her and said “got it, no more floor seats” She’s 5’0.
