Kydex Holster Paraordnance

Looking for either some DIY tips or some Google-Fu.

I have a Paraordnance P14, which is a Commander-size double-stack 1911. I’m looking for a holster for it, and am interested in trying out a Kydex holster for the first time. But I can’t find any Kydex holsters for the P14.

So, anyone make their own Kydex holsters that retain really well?

Or, anyone know of a Kydex holster for the P14?

Or, anyone think I should pass on the plastic and stick with leather or nylon?

This will be for CHL.

I like the kydex holsters and there are several companies that manufacture them:

https://aliengearholsters.com/search-by-gun?gun-search=The+Para-Ordnance+P14-45

https://www.galcogunleather.com/corvus-belt-iwb-holster-carbon-fiber-finish-_8_4_1392.html

They are durable and moldable if the fit is either too tight or too loose. You can use a heat gun to fine tune the shape. I don't like the hard plastic belt holders, so I remove them and use nylon gun belt keepers without the snaps for comfort.

Rock on, David

Making your own holster might be a good craft project if you don't find what you want. Kydex looks to be readily heated / formed with a heat gun or small oven. Maybe make a wood positive of your spoon and form around that?

There are holsters that are a leather backing with a kydex front that are very common as IWB.

It looks like Galco makes one like above (part leather, part kydex) and also a full kydex option.

It's hard to find photos of the Triton with a 1911, but they do make them.

This type is quite plentiful (and comfortable).

I had a friend of my brother make me one. he charged me $35 or something.

what was special is that he asked around his (well armed) circle of friends and found the same make and model of my gun and made me a perfectly fitting Kydex holster. it pretty cool, but I would have added a drain hole at the bottom.

You've got a drill or pointy, sharp pocket knife, right?

I don't think vash has any knives. We need to start a thread for that.

Hey. Easy.

I like when they put a dowel and form a drain hole in the seam. It looks much better. Boring a hole works but I’m picky.
