Beautiful. I’d love to drive one. Mid-engine balance...and that sound.

keeping with their tradition, the Corvette is an amazing value.
Point for the Corvette.

keeping with their tradition, the Ferrari is beautiful.
Point for the Ferrari.

It is my (personal) opinion.
If you park the two cars together, and I will apologize pre-emptively...

The Corvette looks like a Asian knockoff of a super car.
It is physically a size or two too big.
The interior is about 1/2 a size too small.
The engine, well lets face it, the engine is down right sexy.

Again, defending the home team. The car seems to be a terribly good car, and my complaints are just with the subjective aspics of the car, so it a me problem, not a GM problem.

Would just feel like you bough a Torino when you wanted a Mustang, or a Chevelle instead of a Camaro or (putting on the flame suit) a Boxter when you have lusted after the GT3 all your life.

For those of us still living in a budget, you can buy 4 new Corvettes for the price of the Tributo, and have plenty of $$ left over for new sets of tires !

The Corvette and Ferrari are remarkably similar in length, height and width. The Ferrari is actually wider, btw.

The numbers (in inches);
Ferrari f8 - 181.5 long, 77.9 wide, 47.5 high
Corvette - 182 long, 76 wide, 49 high

I agree with it looking odd and having a too-small interior, but that is true for most mid-engined cars.

(If only someone thought to put the engine a bit further back to give it better proportions and more interior space....)

I have seen many of them on the road around here. The thing is, I have never been a huge fan of the Corvette but this mid engine car is pretty. Sometimes, I mistake it for a F car or Lambo from a distance so a second turn of my head to check, always. Even my little one ask, what's is that when he sees one.

Is the new Corvette the new NSX where they made Ferrari rething what they were doing?

You mean it looks like the new NSX? Is that a knock off? I thought they all look like that for aero reasons. No?

Good plan. Swap the badges over and save a bomb.

I like the look of the two cars equally.

Neither does much for me. Much prefer their respective predecessors/ancestors (from about 50-60 years ago).

With the swoopy aero designs with emphasis on big vents, the cars all start to look alike.

I like both of them but in the real world...

Once you get past the basic proportions, there are very few similarities. Intake positioning (front and side), mirror mounting, B pillar shape...They're all different.
I suspect the drive by sound would separate them even further.

no.
If you look at the Ferrari it has (subjectively) a very low nose (measured from the ground to the top of the bumper) with sexy rounded edges that lead to more sexy curves.

The Corvette has (again subjectively) a higher nose (measured from the ground to the top of the bumper) with more of a "Lamborghini" "All the design department needs is a straight edge ruler" lines to it. This makes it look "Chuckey" to me.

And that "Chunckeyness" look seems to (have I mentioned the word subjectively) continue thought the rest of the car.

but dang is it an effective car.

Is anybody here seriously considering the purchase of either one?

Money differential aside, I'd have to drive one of each. I can be non biased if needed.

Money being an issue, I'd jump on the Corvette like a duck on a June bug.

Not in red though, but I am biased towards red Ferraris.

Heck the 20,000 mile service for the Ferrari is likely the cost of a new Vette. Of course only 2% of the Ferraris ever see 20K miles in a lifetime. Most Ferrari drivers brag on how few miles the have.
