Flour was purchased in 100 lbs cloth bags. When they were empty, they would be bleached and stuffed with feathers plucked from the geese who had weeded our strawberry patch through the summer and had recently taken up residence in our freezer.

Back in the day? Sometimes, when I'm feeling really proud about myself, I'll leave it for the next to admire.

I have used one every week for the last 30 years....I just burnt my burnable trash tonight, but I recycle everything they allow me to.
I have a landfill about 2 miles away that buries everything (including train car loads from other states). When I see that the debris in the bottom of my burn barrel is getting full, I dump it in my woods for the chickens to scratch through. It turns to soil in less than a year, while the buried treasures down the road will still be here 500 years from now. |

We flatten bottle caps with a hammer and cut them up like Ninja stars with a tin sipper, throw em' up against anything we find. When dulled, they get cut again. fun times
