Story songs, I just like 'em
And I always have. I guess, many/most stories tell a story, but some are much more blantant about it.
This may be the first one that I remember from when I was 4 or 5. I had no idea what it was about, of course. I'm sure there were more, but the next one that stands out is (and my parents and I never listened to much country) Then there's And how about a very well loved classic. and another Another classic Tons and tons more Coward of the County - Kenny Rogers The Gambler - Kenny Rogers Hotel California - Eagles a good, more modern one I like this one too. Do you find that you are more attracted to this kind of song? What are some of your favorites? How about: Piano Man - Billy Joel Take the Money and Run - Steve Miller Band Space Oddity - David Bowie

AL Stewart. He has a lot more of these types of songs but this is a good one. Road To Moscow
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjKajpMoUxM Of course, there's Joni's Circle Game. This song makes me cry as much as Cats In The Cradle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9VoLCO-d6U I am sure there's a couple few CSN songs in there as well. Funny I listen to these hippie music that's 10 years or more before my time. I grew up in the 80s, but don't remember too many of these types of songs mentioned. Maybe I was head banging to ACDC that I failed to really listen? |
