^^

I ran across a Gen Z Youtube video talking about the new Integra, (he's a Honda/Acura fan), he didn't seem impressed either.

That's a yellow turd.

Sarc 11-12-2021 11:33 AM

As forgettable as anticipated. Dude's got the power stance thing down though.

It's too bad from a marketing perspective. This car could have been targeted at me, a Gen X'er who grew up with the 3 generations of the Integra and now has enough money to buy one not for myself but for one of my teenagers/college age kids who is now of driving age.

I don’t think it’s going to sell well. None of the JDM pages that I’m on have been kind to this thing. They’ll sell a few, but it won’t be the smash hit it could have been.

Well, 10 years ago the Dodge Charger was the big star with the youth crowd at NAIAS in Detroit based on exit polling. I said to myself that has to be a fluke, were they talking to people just leaving a bar and pulling their leg? No, not a joke and ten years later they are still making the same car relatively unchanged.

I decided then that I just don't swim with the rest of the fishes.

Maybe it will be a hit, gotta ask people in that demographic.

I think it sucks a big one.

^ This.

It has two too many doors, and zero styling.

I had a 2nd gen Integra hatchback, and it is still one of my favorites. Handled surprisingly well from a FWD platform. That double wishbone suspension really did work wonders in the corners! And the hatchback had plenty of room...

That is basically what the last Integra was.

I had an Integra GSR sedan, perhaps the best car I ever owned. Great handling, 30 mpg and would top 130 mph

1980s Japanese cars are the red hot vintage segment with young car buyers.
Marketing as a driver's car with 5 door hatch practicality.
Great move at $30k price point.

Just before I put a deposit on a new Civic...I heard the news that a new Integra was coming. I thought about waiting for that...glad I didn't.

The Civic appeals to me more...plus they give no word of a hatchback version of the Integra.

I just went and read the actual article linked in the OP.

Dumbass thinks the Type R was a second generation car

B18C was such a stellar motor, upper and lower wishbones front and rear, was just an excellent package. Miss that car

While it was a Civic underneath, there was no mistaking either car for the other.

THis new "Integra" is immediately forgettable and would be indistinguishable from a Honda if you removed the badges.

Swing and a HUGE miss.

stevej37 11-15-2021 11:38 AM

Another new vehicle from Honda....

It isn't much less bland than the 90's version.

Actually, if you parked an Integra sedan next to a Civic coupe of the same vintage, they are practically identical.

stevej37 11-15-2021 02:30 PM

^^^ Which is no surprise. Honda...Honda
I was just expecting more from Acura in the re-introduction.

Eh... agree to disagree on this, I guess. Of course, I'm horribly biased as the Integra was THE CAR of my adolescence.

Only in America can you buy an Integra. The rest of the world calls them Honda. They just change the badge and presto chango it is a different brand.

It would be an Integra either way, but Honda Integra outside the US.
