Have you ever been locked out of your iPhone?
For some reason, when I work outside on the car, my phone locks up in my front pant pocket. I suppose I’m doing something, that jiggles it or presses something, to lock it?
Anybody else? ![]() |

This in particular is not my problem, but I'm considering just leaving the windows open so whenever I'm thrust into two/three/whatever factor authorization, using passwords that I haven't used in years - I can just go retrieve the device from the front yard and then step in line for a pleasing few hours of "human" intervention to reset the system.
(shakes cane at clouds...)

Never. But then, I've never had a smart phone.

Yep. Phone thinks you are trying to log in with your password as you move around.
Keep it out of your pocket. Guy says to doc, I hurt my leg in two places. Doc says to guy stay out of those places

Maybe when you go work on your car, you should find a new spot (besides your front pocket) to keep your phone?

I've noticed that too whenever I'm in a Strip Club with my phone in my front pocket. I've found a stack of $1 bills between my phone and the pocket solved the problem.

I now have a phone cover with a flip over front that covers the screen. This used to happen to me which was annoying, then one day it said it was locked for something stupid like 150 years. I had to do a hard reset on the phone and lost a lot of stuff.

I've never been locked out, but I've had weird stuff happen. I've taken pictures and videos of the inside of my pocket. I've had the phone try to call random numbers - I'll be working away and suddenly hear "We're sorry but the number you have dialed is not a working number." I've sent text that were gibberish. When I was still using the app for my Volt I'd open the garage and find the windows down and the AC on.
I don't leave the phone in my pocket when I'm doing physical work.

Perhaps a hardcover case? I've used Snakehive cases for a few years. No complaints.

No, never.
I carry my phone on my belt in an otter box. I can't care less what others think of that. It is the perfect place for a tool I use regularly. If it is good enough for Batman, I can handle it. People mistake me for batman all the time with my physic.

It happens most when I am rolling around under the car. In that case a belt clip won’t work. And while I’m under there, I like to take pictures of what I’m working on, so having it in my pocket is handy.
