more science fiction i have forgotten.

Asimov's Foundation Series. I know for a fact I read the books in my late teens early 20's.

I friggen cant remember the story! I think Apple TV is recreating them as a mini-series?

you all see the previews? looks way over the top.

I still have the paperbacks that I read a looooong time ago. It's about Hari Seldon and his psycho-historians. They try to predict the behaviors of mass populations and then try to steer history by manipulating events.

I read ‘em years ago. As with Dune, I would rather re-read the books than watch a movie.

There is a sci-fi book I read long ago about how babies are born carrying all the knowledge of the universe and it is so overwhelming that they need to be “socialized” by unlearning or blocking out most of it and then re-learn it as they get older, but the main characters in the book didn’t get socialized. That’s another one I would like to re-read, but I can’t recall the title or author.

I read them long ago in paperback. Then back when Asimov was still alive he published a limited edition of all the original Foundation books, and some new ones that tied the Foundation universe to the Robot stories and novels. Also some of the books like Forward the Foundation are a prequel to Foundation.

I really need to re-read the entire series in order. I have the books on my bookshelf so it will be easy, just take a while.

Douglas Adams has some unconventional books that are fun sci-fi.

The Five-Part Trilogy, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is absurdly fun. The Dirk Gently series is quite enjoyable as well.

Real off-beat stuff - dry British humor at its best.

Just my $0.42,
