Long COVID symptoms?

Those that had it, how long were you symptomatic and how many tests did you fail?
I'm on day 9 of symptoms (very mild, like the weakest cold, but getting annoying) and my THIRD positive test since Friday.

I'm a super efficient virus making machine!

You need to be taking an antigen test. PCR tests will remain positive for a long time.

Well golly, now I see that you're right. I'll have to hunt one down, although I expect that my workweek is still ruined.

It is my understanding that "Long Covid" has nothing to do with tests or how long you feel ill, but rather the affect of Covid on your long term health.

I had 8-9 days of hell, and still have complications a year later, yet have tested negative several times since.

The Uncle Sam tests came in the mail yesterday. We got Quick View, which I have bought before.

It's odd, the CDC guidelines almost seem to be on "the honor system" when it comes to being "COVID Free".

I had it right when they went from 10 day to 5 day quarantine restrictions. It was confusing so i asked LA County Health about the guidelines. They are 10 day for symptoms, 5 day if you are asymptomatic. I asked if the 10 day clock started when you tested positive and they told me no, it's when you first experience symptoms.

In my job I get tested 3 times a week (PCR). Now that I have tested positive and recovered I will continue to work and will not get tested for 90 days, they say there's no reason and I could test positive even though I'm no longer contagious.

That being said, my symptoms went away quickly although there was some lingering of fatigue but even that has subsided as the days go by.

i just dropped my work truck off at the shop. the guy there told me his wife is on month 6 of no smell or taste.

crazy thing he has been testing negative the whole time, and staying healthy. and he said his bunk mate on a tuna boat was feverish and was positive. that would have pissed me off.

feel better quick P.

Is the bunk mate close friends with the wife?

Or is "bunk mate on a tuna boat" some sort of swingers' euphemism?

I got "lucky" I cannot say why because this will end up in parf.

I caught it at a wedding that was on a Saturday.

By Tues I had a 99 fever and felt off. that evening I felt like crap. I woke up the next morning feeling like I had a bad hangover (not fair I had not drank... much...) 100 fever, took 2 Tylenol and went to work at 0500.

Miserable day Wednesday, I suffered through it, left work early (LOL 5PM instead of 6)

I went home an crashed, Thursday morning I felt better but not myself. Suffered though another 12 hour day.

Friday I felt even better, only worked 11 hours went home, took a shower and crashed on the couch. I went to bed at 8PM slept in to 10 the next morning, then proceeded to do nothing all day buy lay on the couch and watch TV.

Sunday I woke up and felt much better, we took the dogs on a 2 mile walk and it flat out wore us out. (Getting to the wife in a moment)

Laid Low Sunday, on Monday I felt more myself and had all my energy back.

My wife had it much harder as did my son, both had over 100 fever both were laid up for the entire ordeal not moving or doing anything. Skin hurt and felt like total crap.

Both lost taste and smell, I did not. Both are still struggling with that 2 weeks later.

I had 6 bad days and I was over it, my wife and son had 6 horrible days and 2 weeks later are still not recovered.

I did something they did not, I am sure that made the difference. I cannot say what that was here because then we go parf.

It sucked, I am glad it is over (at least for me my family is still sorting it out) and it is weird that I no longer have to worry about catching it anymore. My biggest fear was being laid up for a week unable to work (self employed) the fact I was able to muscle through it and work was a blessing for me.

My wife is now wondering if she is going to suffer form hair loss. Her niece had it too (we all caught it at her wedding) and is losing hair now, as well as no taste or smell.

I got off easy. Woot!

I'm on day 6. Had a scratchy throat on Friday, but mom was really out of it so took her to the ER. They said probably Covid, where did she get it? I told them from the ER. We were here a few times in one week. Yup, mom tests positive. I go home and test and it is positive. Mom gets the good stuff at the hospital and I suffer in isolation. Took Costco severe cold and flu pills every 4 hours, and Tylenol extra strength every 12.

Day 1 - backache and 100 fever, sleep all day, chills and sweats, no appetite
Day 2 - backache and 100 fever, sleep all day, chills and sweats, no appetite
Day 3 - no fever or bodyaches, just tired, chills and sweats, no appetite
Day 4 - no fever or bodyaches, but upset stomach and diarrhea
Day 5 - no fever or bodyaches, but upset stomach and diarrhea
Day 6 - no fever or bodyaches, but upset stomach and diarrhea

Partner and I had
1 week of sore throat and cold symptoms, 99 degree temps, generally ok energy level - didnt go to work, positive test.
2nd week, no cold symptoms or sore throat, MORE fatigue, insomnia, negative test result.
3rd week, fatigue getting better slowly, still only doing most mild of exercises, full week in the office.

I'm almost at 3 weeks since symptoms started (Jan 9th). It was a stuffed up nose/sniffles.
First test negative on Jan 10th.
Fever and Chills with a mild headache in the Evening Jan 10th. Lasted 8 hours
3AM Jan 11th, tested Positive.
5 Days from first symptoms, I flew back to Houston. Tested positive on return
Isolated from Mrs. Beard for 3 more days.
Jan 11th through Jan 23rd, stuffed up nose and or sniffles, cough and laryngitis. It slowly became less and less.
Still to this day, occasional daytime bouts of being tired.

I'm being tested every other day by a medical clinic. It is PCR testing. After day 14 days (Day 8 was the first day of PCR testing), no more until 30 (Which will be day 38) days. On PCR, I'm still positive at least until the middle of last week.

I work outside and alone. $50K in GPS / Robotics has paid for itself many times over the in last 2 years.

I had a super roll up on me at a job site, he jumped out of his truck to come chat, I chased him away and told him I had the moronic. He jumped back in his truck and sped off. I have no seen him since. I think I am going to have moronic from now on. I like the lack of interruptions.

When I am in the office, my receptionist had Moronic the 1st week of the year, my older son had it at the same time as I did, he was out for a week sick.

Sorry, no super spreader event, well, the wedding I caught it at was. As I predicted it would be and I prepared for that.

3 weeks out my stupid cough is finally gone.

My wife is starting to get taste and smell back.
