Pfizer and BioNTech have seen encouraging data in the ongoing booster trial of a third dose of the current BNT162b2 vaccine. Initial data from the study demonstrate that a booster dose given 6 months after the second dose has a consistent tolerability profile while eliciting high neutralization titers against the wild type and the Beta variant, which are 5 to 10 times higher than after two primary doses.

While Pfizer and BioNTech believe a third dose of BNT162b2 has the potential to preserve the highest levels of protective efficacy against all currently tested variants including Delta, the companies are remaining vigilant and are developing an updated version of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine that targets the full spike protein of the Delta variant. The first batch of the mRNA for the trial has already been manufactured at BioNTech’s facility in Mainz, Germany. The Companies anticipate the clinical studies to begin in August, subject to regulatory approvals.

This is Moderna and the trial is Phase 3 for the booster for variants, not just a "third shot".

I think mRNA 1073 is the Covid/flu combo.

I prefer a vaccine that is safe and effective.

So you passed on this then?

I got jabbed with Pfizer... Minimal side effects.

Racerbvd 09-14-2021 06:34 PM

I got jabbed with Moderna, arm , joints and every injuries I ever had hurt, 101 fever for a few days, after the 2nd one, slightly worse than the 1st, but this time, fever of 102 and more days that were not productive.

I've already had the Fizzer first shot and get the second one six weeks later which is next Tuesday. It seems the talk of the town is all about 3rd shots or booster shots. So I think I'll choose AstraZenica for that one.

Day two after my third jab. Pfizer.
Arm hurts at the injection site and I am a bit tired. That is all.

Yep. Both shots, the only effect that I felt was a sore spot where they jabbed me. My wife had some reaction the evening after both, but nothing terrible.

I got the J&J vaccine.

Why that, over the two-dose varieties? All three options are readily available near me.

I'm pretty low risk for covid (35, healthy, non smoker), who is working from home 100% and has minimal interaction with the public. I adopted a wait-and-see approach in regards to the vaccines and case counts in early 2021.

However, cases related to Delta began to increase, with a spike predicted around the time of our family trip to the beach. That meant crowded boardwalk, restaurants, and all that fun. With that trip barely two weeks away, I decided to get J&J due to its one-shot dosing.

Also, my wife got Pfizer and couldn't get out of bed for 36hrs. While anecdotal, it did play into the decision to skip that vaccine.

I took the Pfizer at the first opportunity.
I had a strange taste in my mouth for about an hour after the first shot.
No side effects after the second.

Peace of mind is a wonderful thing.
If a booster is recommended, I'll get that too.

I had the full compliment of mandated shots in the late fifties when they were required.
I haven't seen a lot of Polio patients recently. I wonder why?

cabmandone 09-15-2021 01:30 PM

My wife got the Moderna vaccine and now she doesn't want to have sex with me! These vaccines are worse than wedding cake if ya ask me!

On a serious note
