I'm pretty happy. They have trans fluid on them but they are for the shop.

Next pair will be these. All black.

I will look at those the next pair I need Bob. After doing a ton of research, I thought the Bondi 7 was the shoe for me but the Clifton 8 felt better on my foot at the store.

Great day today with the Hoka's, huge improvement over even the one-time new Merrill's which will now be my outside work shoes with Dr. Scholl's gel inserts. Have gone through 2 sets of those in this shoe.

something like 30% off at a local sporting goods store. i will get a new down vest and pair of Hoka trail shoes. the Speedgoats or something. mid highs.

Looked at those Speedgoats, pretty cool, didn't even know they had a shoe like that. Will be looking for a mid-high for winter as soon as it snows.

That's why I wear quality work boots even to the grocery store. They aren't nasty, I keep them oiled and as clean as I can. If I'm going to paint or work in the garden, I put on the boots I bought last before the current ones. Not un unusual for me to own a pair for 10 years before they are too old and redundant. Most are good for one resole.

Thanks Milt, I've got two pair of excellent boots. But they have their place and it's not in my shop, rather cutting down trees and shoveling snow. Boots have hard insoles, I can't even imagine doing what I do with boots on. Plus I move around a lot and walk very fast up and down the shop, about 60-70 feet end to end and 40+ front to back with turns. Today was an excellent example: The vented acid room is 40 feet from the tumbler. Probably did 50 trips, and as noted, I sort of sprint walk. Out of the tumbler to the front layout room, a couple of tight turns, maybe 20 trips. When I work on door frames it's better to move around the main hoop than to move the hoop on the table. I need something light, nimble, comfy because while I'm always on my feet, I'm always moving. It's a full day aerobics class many days.

These are the shoes I'm relegating to outdoor work. They are still in fantastic shape but even new Dr. Scholl's aren't as comfortable as I would like. Got them March 28th this year so about 5.5 months though the last 2 weeks they've been killing me.

I spent two long on Red Wings. They crapped out in no time.

I have a pal that says Red Wings just don't measure up and Wolverines are the boss.

I would love boots but have found high-end New Balance and these Hokas to be the ticket.

I mean you experiment every 6-9 months with a new pair of something so I think I don't know what I like. I think I like what I know.

Take Vash's advice and try the Redbacks. I broke my ankle years ago playing baseball and in my advanced age it bothers me sometimes. I really like the ankle support in the boots.

I bought the "Bonsall" but on other websites in the USA it's known as the "Bobcat". Great boot when your walking some miles.

I’ll give them a look.

To be truthful, after posting this I checked on the website. The Bonsall/Bobcat isn't available in my size now.

I always tell my Wife when she likes something my Mantra is "If you like it, buy two because chances are they'll stop making it".

I liked the Redbacks and ordered a second pair in the "Great Barrier". They're that good and prices will probably rise with everything else.

I was done with Red Wings 10 years ago or more. Maybe 20 years ago they were a difference boot made in the US. They say a FEW still are.

AFA Wolverine, they are junk for me. I have a pair that I sometime rotate in just because they aren't quite ready for the bin.

Just bought some Dansk clogs. These are btich to break in. I'm up to 3 hours before I have to change. I'll get there and it will be interesting to see how loyal I become to the clog. One thing: they are like putting on western boots with the heel. But no lateral support like a boot. Way back someone here stated they sold shoes and far and above anything in his opinion is the western boot.

IDT Shaun would like them :D

If you work on your feet all day, and if you have talent, you might have feet this nice by the end of the day:

Ok Pal, tell me that there's a difference with these socks compare to your old typical ankle socks. I am just about to press the order button. Which one?

The great Barriers they had in stock. The Bobcat/ Bonsall's seem to be out of stock in 9-11 US.

I'm going to keep them for later, you never know how the prices will move (or production to another country).

I bought the three pack just to give it a try. Wow, my feet aren't tired at all at the end of the day. Normally just taking the shoes off is a bit of relief. I am buying more.

It isn't like having great shoe vs poor shoe difference but just enough that I can tell is enough to justify a few more pairs.

Dude! You're like the guy selling tube socks out of the back of his van at the Swap meet!

I'm going to try some too. What did you think of the compression Cool-max socks?

After wearing them for the first time today, I am sold. How long will they stay tightly wrapped around my feet, only time will tell after some washings. So far, I like it.

Oh, my feet sweated less then my typical NewBalance socks.

vash 09-23-2021 08:20 PM

I got the speedgoats. Maiden voyage tomorrow. Been a minute since I had to negotiate shoe laces. . :)
