I feel like Jordan Klepper when I’m reading and posting in these Covid threads. |

It’s funny because let’s say somebody blocks my comments, they immediately see them when you quote the comment, unless your are blocked of course. At this point Tobra may only see comments from Fintstone or Island. That’s his safe space. |

Covid by the numbers? 1.
I have an Uncle that passed away early this morning from Covid. He was 65 years old and had been in the hospital since Labor Day. He was not vaccinated and he is the first person in my family to die from this goddamn virus!!! How do you deal with this? No one to yell at and can't punch the ***** out of a virus. It's going to be a roller coaster of emotions today. My Uncle will be missed!!! Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk |
^^^^ Very sorry Marty.... may your uncle RIP.
One by one .... it matters. Our first rate health care ICUs are maxed according to local news. I see thei |
Marty, I'm sorry for your family's loss. It's compounded when you know that it probably could have been prevented. RIP.

One by one .... it matters. Our first rate health care ICUs are maxed according to local news. I see their leading Drs. pleading on TV. These are nationaly reknowned facilities... NC is health care rich and I don't have a clue, nor do any of you PARF clowns compared to the experts in this state. That's my take.... |
Thanks guys.
Yep, it probably could've been prevented which really makes me angry. If he had been vaccinated, maybe he would have pulled through this, but we will never know. He went to a Birthday party for one of his grandchildren, turns out a girl there tested positive for Covid, a few days later he has Covid, less than a month later, he is gone!!! I understand people don't want to be told they "have" to get the vaccine for one reason or another, but still, get the vaccine so that you have a fighting chance of survival if you do get Covid. I don't want another person to die from this virus!!! Rest In Peace Uncle Kenny. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk |
Sorry for your loss of Uncle Kenny.
You are right that he had been vaccinated, maybe he would have pulled through, but maybe not. According to the CDC the vax is not perfect for preventing death, https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/70/wr/mm7037e1.htm#F1_down Here is their chart that shows more unvax'd die from this than vax'd (about 10:1) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1632503160.JPG They don't show the percentage vax'd vs non-vax'd during that period. (much larger population of unvax'd?) (nothing to see thar) But interestingly the percentage of vax'd deaths is on the rise, relative to the unvax'd. We are told that with time away from the vax decreases the effectiveness. (boosters needed) These vaccines are far from perfect, that is for sure. People who claim otherwise do not like to "follow the science" the numbers. |
The bottom line is that getting vaxx'ed is the best we can do right now and it's about 100 times better than nothing...or horse wormer. You need to play the odds in life.
|
I’ll take the 10-11+ times chance of not getting seriously ill, clogging an ICU, and surviving by getting vaccinated. I’ll take the booster when I qualify early November, knowing my chances of a breakthrough infection and the consequences will drop even farther.

My wife knows a women that said she was never going to get the shot and never wears a mask. Her daughter is getting married this weekend. The women, her husband (father of the bride) and other daughter (maid of honor) all tested positive this week. Remains to be seen if they will attend the wedding. I'm thinking they probably will and make it not only a wedding but a super spreader event as well.

it really is a shame. we could be done with this. we could be 100% back to normal. basically almost all covid-19 deaths at this point are preventable. but we can't have nice things here in this country. |
