It depends on how you measure it. Partially vaccinated, fully vaccinated, percentage of eligible population, percentage of total population.
Israel 67% vaccinated, 62% fully vaccinated of population US 64% vaccinated, 55% fully vaccinated of population From the NY Times tracker. Probably current, no date provided. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/world/covid-vaccinations-tracker.html

Let's say, for the sake of illustration, that at one point 90% of the people are unvax'd and 10% vax'd... AND we see numbers that show 90% of the deaths are of unvax'd and 10% of deaths from vax'd. - How effective then is the vaccine? Let's say that 100% of the population is vax'd. What then would be the percentage of the deaths of vax'd people? See how that works?

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/08/10/us/covid-breakthrough-infections-vaccines.html In a state with a high vaccination rate, a higher percentage of breakthroughs may simply reflect that fully vaccinated people are a bigger chunk of the population, or that there are few hospitalizations and deaths overall. Imagine a state where just two people are hospitalized but both are vaccinated — breakthroughs would account for 100 percent of the hospitalizations in that state, even though these cases were very rare. Assessing breakthrough rates Some epidemiologists and state health officials instead recommend comparing how likely a vaccinated person was to be hospitalized or to die, compared with an unvaccinated person. To do this, the Times used the number of breakthroughs and the vaccination rate over time to estimate rates of hospitalizations and deaths for each group in every state for which data was available. In those states, people who were not fully vaccinated were hospitalized with Covid-19 at least five times more often than fully vaccinated people, according to the analysis, and they died at least eight times more often.

![]() Am I wrong in saying that any CV deaths, when there is 100% of the population vax'd, will be 100% from vax'd people? Am I wrong in saying that any CV deaths, when there was 100% of the population un-vax'd, those deaths were 100% from un-vax'd people? THe point being that we have to know the % of the population vax'd & un-vax'd to understand the effectiveness of the vaccine, when presented as "90% of deaths are from unvaccinated, and 10% of CV deaths from vaccinated" WHEN you hold that number (90/10) up against the ~50% vax'd that 10% death with vax'd is worse than 10% of the vac'd population ... more like 20% (read: the vax is not all that great. Better than nothing, but FAR from perfect)

First off, you are a moron. Second, nobody has claimed the vaccine to be perfect. It doesn’t have to be perfect. My guess is that you know this but you love being the Dr. Evil character on the web. My guess is you are waiting your turn to get the booster. |

You’re using information that pre-dates Delta.

He uses whatever info out there that makes him feel cool. It’s pretty pathetic actually. Some of the posters here are really skeptical of the vaccine, I can tell. Not island. He’s most definitely vaccinated to the hilt. It’s just so fun to play the devils advocate in everything and it makes him feel cool. |

It's pretty simple here. The vaccine is not going to make anyone 100% invincible to this virus but it does give you a fighting chance of survival if you were to get the virus. Nothing is guaranteed in this life, in this world, but if you arm yourself with some sort of defense against the virus through a vaccine, then aren't you better equipped to defend yourself against the virus? I think so. It just seems simple to me, common sense. Vaccines are just a weapon to help you prevail against an ailment. Get the damn shot so you dont die!!! This thing doesn't care what political party you belong to, viruses don't discriminate between races either. Who gives a rat's a$$ about percentages of this or that, it doesnt matter.
I want people to live and to live their lives as they want, I swear to God Almighty I don't want anyone else to die from this damn blasted virus. I say get vaccinated to give yourself a fighting chance just in case you were to get the virus. I really like you guys here and dont want anything to happen to y'all. Thanks for reading my rant. Peace. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

^^^ I can agree with the above ... with a caveat. Odds are anyone will beat this virus without a vax also... and that's where statistics can mislead the gullible. I'll listen to health care providers and scientists here in NC... we have "our best" working on it ... not posting on Pelican... like me.

Hundreds of millions of people have survived this virus just fine without a vaccine. So ranting around, Pollyanna style, insisting that only the vaccine can give fighting chance... is ridiculous. Well, unless you are talking to the "at risk" population - asthmatic obese smoker... Those people should definitely do whatever they can to improve their situation. Vaccine, exercise, Vitamin D.... anything and everything, because this Chynah Virus is here to stay.
