Usps
I ordered an engine hood strut for my car. Shipping through USPS was $9.95. I got an email that my package was out for delivery today between 12-3 pm. No package arrived. As I was near my mailbox watering a tree I get a text that my package was delivered at 3:13. It’s now 3:14 and no package. To the post office I go. Give the tracking number to the counter employee and he disappears for ten minutes, then comes back with my part. How did this happen? He just shrugs his shoulders.

USPS tracking is the worst of all the carriers.
The only accurate part is when it starts delivery.

^^^ 100 % correct . I ordered a repair manual 3 weeks ago . Estimated delivery date was one week . Tracking showed it left the state of Washington on time and as expected . Then the trail went cold with NO updates . I went to the post office , best they could say is " it should show up " . Gee thanks 😡 . It did finally show up . Go figure 😁

This is not to say that there can be delays, but it has been my experience (including last week's delivery) that delivery timing (including delays if the occur) are accurately represented on the USPS tracking web site. |

Try and get them to pay a claim on a lost package some time. They used to lose 1 of 10 from our business shipping. We will not use them any more unless the customer signs a waiver that we are not liable for any loss by USPS.

I just learned that Amazon is shipped third class. I was expecting a Sunday delivery. It showed an attempt to deliver at 9:25pm. I go to the post office on Monday morning and ask if I can pick up the package as instructed. It's in Lima Ohio because apparently all Sunday deliveries come from Lima. So.. since I didn't show up to pick it up, it goes back to Columbus Ohio where it then goes to Delphos and then out for delivery. Sounds efficient.

I've had horrible experiences with USPS. Sent a legal size envelope certified with return receipt requested. It went to the respective state, went out for delivery and then came back to the PO. Went out again and back again. Third time it went out and just disappeared. They can't tell me what happened. Their solution? Refund the postage paid. What about the legal documents inside? Sucks to be you.
Here's a recent delivery from them: ![]() ![]() It was a replacement for an issue that never showed up. The magazine cover was a wreck.

I usually don’t order parts from this company because the shipping is so expensive. But, what I don’t get is the “package delivered “ text. How does that work? More shoulder shrugs.

I've had nothing but 100% satisfaction with Usps.
I like their flat rate boxes sent from anywhere in the US to New Zealand. Arrives in about five or six days. AND cheap! Last edited by Bill Douglas; 09-21-2021 at 06:20 PM.. |

Often, there are full totes of mail hidden in their empty tote storage area...not sure if they were forgotten some how, or purposely hidden there !
35 years ago, I worked for a big bank processing center (returning canceled checks in statements), and found this USPS issue several times. One of the totes I found had a late mortgage payment of one of my co-workers that she had re-issued after being threatened with extra fees. |

FedEx is not quite as good as UPS, but really close. USPS, the tracking is pretty horrible. You don't really have any idea what's going on until you receive the package. Sometimes you'll see that the package arrived in your city or at your post office, sometimes you don't.

But the text I got that it was delivered at 3:13 pm. How can they text that when the package was still at the post office????

It may be due to the company sucking and the workers doing the best that they could. We had a postal worker that delivered to our old apt that was great. We'd chatted with her a few times and told her how great a job she did. She was quitting or transferring or something. She said that our route was a minimum 11 hour route, and needed to be divided/redistributed, but management wouldn't do anything about it. When she left, things went back to the way they had been before her. Pretty moderate. Tracking got bad, but we almost always got out stuff eventually. The big problem that we had was that you would frequently get someone else's mail in your mailbox and vice versa.

Because that's when it was scanned in at the post office... or that would be my guess. My tracking showed they "attempted delivery" at 9:25 p.m on Sunday. The person at the post office said that's when it got scanned back in at the Lima office.

The one I have issues with is FedEx Ground. As you may or may not know, totally different system from regular FedEx.
Ordered ammo, they left it in a puddle on top of my trashcan while it was raining. Delivery note said "left on porch" - which was 100 feet away, and covered. Ordered powder, they didn't bother with signature, just left it. Same spot. Fortunately not on a rainy day or in a puddle this time. Ordered black powder. Missed first delivery by 3 minutes - apparently they wanted this signature this time around - and the package disappeared into their hub down in Ocala (45 minutes away, not open to public) until I called several times and mentioned repeatedly that the package contained hazmat explosives. They found it quick then, and delivered the next day.... |
