Yep. Sounds like another "social experiment."

You are getting things mixed up. Randy was described as a person who likes to stir the pot but Wdfifteen / Patrick is the one who tapped out.

PPOT needs moderation, this place has been abandoned.

Hope it isn't true: RIP Randy

I've always liked Patrick but we often disagreed in PARF. No big thing really.

Anyway non of this is real - What I mean by that is: What do we really know about each other?

Tervuren 10-13-2021 03:00 AM

The problem with Patrick is he'd make a political comment or thread in OT which would then yeild a lot of responses.
What he doesn't seem to understand is that posting what belongs in P annoys people that would rather have that discussion in the appropriate subforum.
Which automatically starts things off on a bad footing.

I sent Randy an email and haven't gotten a reply so I think we can assume the worst.

Tobra 10-13-2021 04:43 AM

I like Patrick, hope he returns. Wonder what set him off

RIP Randy...

I have said it before and suggest it again that each member has a trusted buddy who can text or email or pm another person to see if they are still active, inactive or dead. As a backup the partner or friend has the info to let us know the status of said person. A wife or friend can let us know. Nobody likes to take advice but that is my 5 cents...

Do a search through some of his posts and you'll find it.
Although some of his posts and the replies they spawned got deleted, others are still there.
For me, the wonder of this forum is connecting with people that know and understand things I don't.
And perhaps getting to share similar from time to time for others.
The very nature of this difference in knowledge will result in disagreement.
Some want a life of peace for all and cannot brook disagreement.
His authoritarian views are not founded in a desire for power over others, but rather that if all thought the same there would be peace.

I thought it meant someone was hypothysing that he was faking his death because he felt the place was too mean. Thanks for setting that straight.
This makes more sense since Wdfifteen never antagonized or irritated folks...

911boost 10-13-2021 07:51 AM

well that sucks, I will miss some of Wdfifteens posts :)

Should that be in green font?

No kidding. While Patrick could often have some interesting things to offer, he was also very capable of being one of the more toxic personalities on this forum.

Rawknees'Turbo 10-13-2021 09:31 PM

Ha ha - I thought the same thing as you two bisches above when I read P-911's post; I've seen the W-15 dude sling tons of feces on here, and then complain loudly when it comes flying back his direction. :D

Hmmmm. Weird.

Not to PARF this thread up, but I would say if this were WD's view, it could explain why liberals/progressives "lean" toward authoritarianism/totalitarianism... and maybe it does... but it all falls apart very quickly because there is so much bickering between them everywhere.

Where's the peace in that?

How did this thread turn to Patrick? The guy is all good in my book.

Of course he is .... or tries to be. But Patrick liked to "discuss" politics ... and that topic has done more harm to PPOT and caused more folks leave than one can count. It's not appropriate here .... unless one is a "political junkie" .... and lives for PARF ... and we all know who they are... YMMV. PAR is like a freakin' cancer attacking "civil discourse" on a car forum ... and it destroyed why I came here originally ... and why folks leave. It's not the "topic" per se.... it just is.

I never did "get" political junkies .... and never will.

Go stand on a corner with a cross and scream "REPENT" at passing cars or something.... just don't pick my corner :(.

Political blinders ... on both ends of the spectrum imo.... YMMV.

Pass....
