Fint's aversion is not to liberals. It is to leftists. Leftism (and globalism) may be old hat (normalized) to Europeans but it is shocking to those of us who are pretty sure that we would not have been able to live the lives that we have lived, absent capitalism, for those of us who were born into the lower class. I was able to attend and graduate college debt free, Go Bearcats!, because of UltraVeap. (after serving 3 years in the Army) Fint's decades and decades of training and experience have solidified his resolve that leftism is the enemy. I agree with him. dl |
I remember a few posts from a RWebb in the technical site and they were good tech posts, questions and answers. I have no idea is he is the same as Corgi, and Thor and all the other identities he and possibly some other used. I learned to ignore him by scrolling past most of his ranting and insults. I do the same thing with several other regulars that never add any real input, just insults and name calling. Some on PARF only know how to insult "the other side" of any argument. I just use the scroll wheel and zip past the insults and name calling. And that hold true of both sides. Once I see name calling and insults, I just scroll past.

There is a definite difference being Continental as opposed to a Cowboy.
Culture counts in my book |
No, Randy and Madcorgi were not the same person. Randy had a couple of screen names but it appears that fastashell was Thor, not Randy.

Randy was thor66.

Some Good News
I believe Randy is very much alive.
Through sheer happenstance, I am in possession of some information on Randy that is not known to the members of this forum. Randy was, you see, an early Pac West Chapter R Gruppe member. He joined just before I did, around 2002-2003. I wound up taking over as Pac West "Chaptermeister" in 2006, and have actively maintained records (a roster and other records) ever since. I even obtained previous rosters from my predecessor, so what I have is pretty darn complete. While Randy has not been a member since 2012, he does show up in my records preceding his departure from the club. Full name, address, phone number, email, etc. So, with that information, I did a few simple searches. Public records indicate that he, and his business, are still at the same address and phone number I have on file. The obit that we have been shown does not contain accurate information regarding "our" Randy Webb, with a couple of glaring discrepancies between what it says and the information I have on file, even with as little as it does say. I will not divulge any of the private information I have, so don't even ask. I don't care that it is against forum rules anyway, but what I do care about is that I was entrusted with that information. Even though we didn't always get along, I will not violate that trust. I just hope he is doing well. |
^^^^ Thank you Jeff... that's nice to hear :)...

Agreed, let's hope he is just taking a break.
Thank you for sharing Jeff. |
Ok. In that case, I take back all of the nice things I said about him. :)

Jeff, thanks for checking.
I hope he does get to see this thread someday. if it were me, I'd laugh, and laugh. It'd make my day. |

Dr. Webb would suggest some here clean the sand out of their manginas and get back to the subject at hand, which is his passing or lack thereof. He always made me laugh because he did not GAF about your feelings. Love or hate him, the guy was consistent.

This thread should be re-named "The Eulogy Thread"

I don't know about the rest of you youngsters, but it seems that I am at the age where a friend or family member dies just about every day. It seems sort of normal for the older ones to be passing...but the parents that have to bury children or a spouse seem the hardest to take. A mother of one of my friends (who just died) has buried a husband and 3 or 4 kids (the oldest was about 63 and the rest much younger). Until recently, most of my friends that were my age either died by 30 or were still hanging on. About the time we hit our early 60s, the rest started dropping like flies. I really did not keep in touch with most, but cancer or heart attack seem the usual culprit. My parents and friends and relatives lived much longer. The ones that made it past 30 generally lived until their 80s...and some into their late 90s. Most were pretty active until they passed. Almost all are gone now. Funny how life seems so short when you hit a certain age. One might do well to recognize that a lot sooner.

The strange thing about the OP link to the obituary - it mentions "Arrangements by Lane Memorial Funeral Home in Eugene, Oregon." If you search the funeral home site for Webb - "https://musgroves.com/tribute/all-services/index.html?orderBy=date-of-death&search=webb" - you don't get anything for a Randy - but it does have a listing of Ronald - whom appears could be his father that passed away March 4, 2018. The obit lists a son named Randy.

I've been avoiding this thread like the plague, if you don't have anything nice to say etc.
But I believe I'll throw in my 2 cents: I respect those who have the guts to speak the truth, even though others may ridicule it for being un-woke or not PC. As with many things in this country, what makes us great and strong is detested by those who are neither. |
