Best way to use a pre-paid debit card?

I bought milk. I signed up for the boughtmilk settlement back in January 2017. At the time, the estimated payout was going to be about $50.

Here it is October 2021, and I finally have the payment. $7.51
I'm sure the lawyers got their full cut of the $52 million.

So, how do I spend this? Online I'm not sure how you can split payments among several payment methods. I don't have a physical card, just a number. They'll charge me $3.00 for a physical card. They also mention adding to a digital wallet, but I don't have one of those set up.

For that amount make sure you spread it around to help spur the economy 😁. Kind of a wasted lawsuit don't you think ?

A guy I worked with was a competitive motocross racer. He crashed in a desert race and became a paraplegic.

He volunteered and was eventually hired part time by Oxnard Police to patrol parking lots and ticket people who illegally parked in handicap spots. Tough to argue that ticket with a guy in a wheelchair.

Anyway, he would save his paychecks and buy $25 Visa gift cards and hang out at Target and Big Lots at Christmas time, handing them out to families that looked like they needed a helping hand.

Maybe give it to a homeless person or someone down on their luck to buy a meal.

Most package or grocery stores will that small amount via the card readers and then you use another card or to cover the total purchase.

Just last week, I received a check for $11.10
It was from a class action suit against Sony.

According to the letter...it was because Sony stopped providing new programs for the Sony Dash.
I owned one at least 20 years ago for a short time.
Must be a costly total payment, when it's a world-wide sales.

I always use leftover balances on those cards to buy Amazon gift cards. They can be purchased for any amount down to the penny.

Looks like that's what I'm going to do. I'm not a big Amazon shopper. The last time I bought anything there was last November, and I used a gift card I received in 2018.
Working from home really cuts down on the clothing budget.

I think I got somewhere between $0.30 and 0.50 a couple years ago. The postage was as much if not more. And it was a check.

I usually finish off those prepaid cards at a gas station. Just make sure you don't use it at the pump; go inside and tell the clerk you would like to use a prepaid card and tell them the exact amount ($7.51).
