Any Honda Techs Here? 2018 CR-V

My wife had called at about 9 last night to tell me that the dashboard of her 2018 CR-V was lit up like a Christmas tree with multiple system problems and failure lights.

Drove to where my son has basketball and started the car up and the computer was cycling through every one of systems as having a problem.

Shut off the car, got out and locked the doors, restarted with the remote outside the car, unlocked the car, got in and pushed the start button and car displays no failures.

Obviously a computer issue but certainly scared my wife into not driving the car!

Anyone else with this experience?

Check the battery and alternator running/charging voltage.

Those are great vehicles, I've bought several from out local dealer for family and friends. Zero issues so far.

You might also look at the ECU connector.

I had a Subaru do that a few years back. The battery showed ok voltage but was old. Changed it out and cleaned the connections. It was fine after that.

I had the same thing with a GMC truck. Start it up and every light and warning sound imaginal would go off. Everything would clear during the restart. It would happen every couple of months. Never found the problem.

Battery/charging is the first thing to check. Also the spark plug and ground wires which may look fine from the outside but be corroded internally and not connected. Worth it to loosen and tighten them all up again. There may be voltage back-feeding through the computer.

If you're looking for a CR-V owner that has had the problem you'll most likely find them over on the CR-V owner's forum:

Checked the battery voltage. Off 12.46. Running 14.6 VDC.
Car is used for a lot of short trips.

Connections look fine and are tight but will get it in the garage and run the battery charger/conditioner overnight. That is once the damn dining room table is out of the garage i will do that...

Is it the original battery?
And have you ever checked the electrolyte levels in the cells?

Yep. Original.
12.46 VDC seems low for a not cold day on a car that has been running earlier in the day.
The original Delco battery on my old GMC lasted for 14 years before it packed it in...

That won't happen with this battery.
I'd just go get a new one, but make it a Group 24F instead of what is in there now. It might take some finagalling to get it in there but I'm pretty sure it'll fit.

My guess is if you check the fluid levels you'll find one or more down and if they're below the plates you're just wasting your time/effort trying to save it. Winter is coming for you up there too.
