I can't see it but the screen flashes something from "subieweenie" to someone, then goes to half a black embed.

This is nothing new. Apples have been opened up this way since the beginning of time.

Adam did it that way?

I have seen and tried it many times...but I've never seen someone do it that easily.

Interesting, I've never seen that before.

I'm going to guess that you should wash the apple first in case it's got wax that kills your grip.

Most of the year, I try to keep apples around. I usually go through 2 a day most days. The only time I'm not chowing on the apples is when it's Sumo Orange season.

I'll try it again later today.

I thought for sure from the title, you were going to discuss the ridiculous thought of "militant incompetence".

Enjoy your apple

I haven't experimented, but I suspect some of it may have to do with the orientation of the apple. Ie, the internal structure, especially around the seed area, may, kind of like a diamond, have cleavage where it's easier to split. Hard to see from the top, but easier to see from the bottom, maybe? I'm going to experiment, but I don't want to sit here and eat 5 apples, so it'll be over the course of a couple of days.

I tried once this morning and got nothing, then washed the apple and the second time, paid attention to the shape of the top of the apple, and it was easy.

The guy in the video used a Gala apple. I think an apple like a 'Red Delicious' would be tougher to do. The split or cleavage is much less on a RD.
Yours, in the pic above, look like red delicious?

My next door neighbor has a few crab apple trees.
Those would be impossible to open that way.
