The Mosquito Coast has been great for 3 episodes. Only 2 seasons were made so that sort of sucks.

I finished the Dropout. Pretty well made and only about 8 episodes; Sort of hard for me to watch just because Elizabeth Holmes is such an unlikeable tnuc.

I've never ever had Netflicks, sounds like it's $7 a month? I've always used Amazon Prime. Am I missing anything really.?

Steve Carlton 12-22-2023 01:50 PM

Tons. I think Netflix is $19.95/mo, though.

stevej37 12-22-2023 01:54 PM

Netflix only offers monthly subscriptions; there's no option to pay yearly for a discount.
Standard with ads: $6.99 per month.
Standard: $15.49 per month.
Premium: $22.99 per month.

Steve Carlton 12-22-2023 02:07 PM

Looks like I'm on Premium to get 4K.

My Netflix comes to about $26 and it’s a load of garbage. I’ve seen everything I ever wanted to see a dozen times. I keep for my wife so she can watch the crown. Problem is, since Covid there has been very little new content created. I’ve had my Netflix account since 2005 and wouldn’t miss it for a second

If it’s new to you….you might like it for a while

Search for what you want on justwatch.com and see where you need to be.

I'm into the third episode of PBS documentary on WW I. My God what a mess that was!

Other than that, it's Christmas romantic comedies every night. Sometimes two a night. That's all Vicki wants to watch and I have watched so much TV I don't care, so that's what we watch.

Mr Inbetween is a rare find. I just started binging it- now through season 2 of 3. Then I'll watch the origin movie The Magician from 13 years earlier.

For 20 years, Ryan’s purpose has been Mr Inbetween, the story of Ray Shoesmith, a kind-hearted, cold-blooded hitman moving between the mundane (school drop-offs, picking up after the dog, shopping for socks) and the profane (contract killing, grave digging, violent retribution), shifting like a shadow between the underworld and a rich inner life devoted to a tween daughter, a terminally ill brother and a hilariously motley crew of mates.

^ That sums it up pretty well, from this good article:

Watching "Joe Pickett" on Paramount+. Good way to relax at Christmas.

I was thinking it was the Bill Bixby version. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1703566506.jpg

Right now, I am enjoying Quincy ME, has always been one of my favorite shows. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1703566620.jpg

Tried Rebel Moon on Netflix.... Big budget and all...
Wow the suck factor was high. Very derivative, zero scenario, one kid quit after 20 min, the other toughed it out till the end and also thought it was bad... Quick synopsis" Evil empire wants to take over little farmer village, like it matters. Hero (ex soldier form evil empire) leaves to get help. "Will you help me? "OK" now they are 3. Flies to other planet.. Will you help me? "sure I got nothign else to do" -> repeat on other planet" Will you help me?" " Oh why not"
Who signs off on crap like that ? There's decent actors, nice CGI, write a minimum of a story please !!!

Slow horses is good, as ever...
I'm not hating the 4th season of For all mankind, unions and all...
Invasion on apple TV is slow but relatively clever and different...
