I think I'll go into ranching

I bet I can talk them down to $190,000,000. I hope it comes with a helicopter. I've always wanted one of those, too.

Talk to a bank, you might be surprised. It looks like the place is set up to make a profit.

"The sale includes a 40% stake of mineral ownership and revenues from a number of existing oil and gas wells, as well as further development potential for more"

I saw that. 40% isn't bad these days (although it would suck to not get it all). I know someone that sold ~100 acres but kept ~99% of the mineral rights, and that property has a producing well.

Maybe. Then I assume there's a ton of maintenance required. I can't even imagine what would be involved with owning/managing that much property. If I could afford it, I probably wouldn't have to worry about doing anything else. If someone wants to gift the property to me, I'm game to give it a shot.

Any time I see properties like this, I always picture myself going to the bank to discuss buying it going something like this:

"You have less, than 10 times less, than one mortgage payment"

Except that I'm going build a wall with a trench on the outside and concertina outside of the trench. It'll be me, family and the animals.

But if I did have subjects, they would call me "lord."

Just get some foster children. They are a proven money maker for ranchers.

Have you been on here lately? Hell this place can’t even agree on what color the sky is lately. It’d be a small group! 🤣

Haha my great grandparents were some of the biggest farmers in a county in Alabama in the 1920/30's. They adopted kids to work the fields. Not child labor if you don't pay them....

Wasn't there some plan to do that out by Hoover Dam?

They are practically neighbors only being ~350 miles apart. JR will probably end up popping by (via helicopter) for BBQ and beers from time to time.
