He's waiting to shower his approval on the upcoming Duntov edition.

Own the same car but with another 125 NA hp. I don't even bring it out if it's below 50 degrees. Cold tires, cold pavement and big hp are asking for big trouble.

Steve Carlton 10-28-2021 04:36 PM

No doubt. A friend had a 2007 that would break traction at 85mph if the traction control was turned off. It was like driving on an ice rink with the traction control turned off...

Once the 911 is gone I'll be in the market for a 2016 or newer Z06. Seems like a really fun car.

I have an 07 as well and I can't add to what you posted except the stupid grin on my face once the tires start to grip. :)

That will be too late to get in on the class action C7 Z06 lawsuits.

Maybe I should wait and see how this plays out! I might be able to snag one on the cheap!

C6z really is peak vette for me, sorta scared off by fixing the valve guides but otherwise a great recipe

Lemans blue one for sale reasonably priced locally avoiding the temptation to go look at it

Fixing the guides is the perfect time for cam, headers and intake. Lingenfelter Will send you the entire set up.

I had the valve guides replaced at 70,000 miles as a preventative measure. The cost was around $4000.
A year later I had a low oil pressure warning. Turned out to be a broken main bearing.
The engine rebuild was $2500 plus labor. That was 3 years ago and I haven't had any problems since.
The car now has over 100,000 miles
I don't track it any more.
There's no Porsche tax.

dad knew a lot a car guys in detroit

zora was by far the coolest with the pure love of speed
90 mph on a rush-hour surface street with 5 y/o me just cause I had asked

btw he scored Porsche first class win post ww2
and infected my dad and brother with 356 fever

I want to like the mid engine but it’s just doesn’t look right imo. Too many straight edges and the side vents are not proportional to the car. I’m sure I could not handle this car.
I did recently drove a friends 02 convertible, it was a blast. Id definitely consider one. Other friends 12 (I believe) super sport is quite a car as well.

Vintage Racer 10-28-2021 06:40 PM

Don't want. It's crude GM quality. I want a 2022 Porsche GTS.

chapo 10-28-2021 06:55 PM

Not a fan of the new mid engine Vette. Looks like it was designed by a 13 year old asked to draw a supercar. I thought the front engined ( almost mid engined ) Vettes were super cool and wild looking. The flat plane crank sounds like crap if it sounds like the IMSA cars. Who would have thought that the Lexus V8 in Imsa would be the better sounding engine?

peppy 10-28-2021 07:52 PM

I love the performance, but the looks are not doing it for me.

Jims5543 10-29-2021 02:52 AM

+1 On the styling. I call it the Corvettaghini. You see one up ahead of you, or coming towards you and you say? WTF is that?

The first time I saw one in the wild I thought it was a poorly done Lambo kit car until I was close enough to realize it was the Corvettaghini.

Amazing performance numbers, no doubt.

javadog 10-29-2021 04:15 AM

Well, at least they tried to clean up the hideous back end of the car a little. Maybe they’ll update the regular C8, too.

I agree with others, the overall styling is too hideous to buy one. It makes a C7 look great and I hated the C7 when it came out.

cabmandone 10-29-2021 04:23 AM

Bang for the buck goes to the vette though. Who else is cranking out a production car at the price point of a vette with similar performance? The vette is an impressive beast.

Geronimo 10-29-2021 05:27 AM

I agree on the styling, I am a less is more kind of guy, but the value AND quality is amazing in this car.

Funny to me, the styling is really nice from a distance or corner of the eye. I catch my self snapping around when I catch one in traffic. I do wish the rear allowed it to feel wider, next to a Lambo or R8 I think it would look very narrow.

I think for me I can see looking for a C7 GS manual in a few years to replace the SC.

Shes a beut I really like them in any of the blues or orange.

Spending $6500 to keep such a car running for 100k miles is really reasonable but I know I would be in for the cams, headers, tune while Im in there. Gets you to 10k+ pretty quick which changes the value proposition for me a little.

C6GS starts to look like the bargain to me and still almost 2x the power of my exige. Still I dream of an LS7 in my life at some point.
