It'll be interesting to see what this fetches. Wouldn't be surprised to see it break $40K.

You really think it'll go that high? I was thinking more like $20K tops.

One sold yesterday for $11K. Would very likely take over $40K to bring it to this level, not to mention the time involved in doing so.
I'd trade my 996 C4S straight up for this in a New York minute, and this 996 is superior in virtually every way to the half dozen air-cooled 911s I've owned. Heck, I much prefer driving it over my 930. I was an air-cooled snob before buying this one - I quickly became a convert. Also, I prefer cars that are a little different, that you don't come across at every show or C&C. _

Wow. It doesn't get nicer than that one! Looks like it sold on BaT in 2018 for $29K. I could see $40K be good, but in this market, somebody could go crazy.

One of those cars that I cannot fathom why they are fetching so much money. You can still see few soldering on around here. Neither quick nor quirky. They are too reliable and too common to be "enthusiast cars" imho

Portland must be about peak vintage Volvo (and Saab) for North America. This one would be even more terrific with a turbo 5cyl.. Cyan is making some interesting stuff and will give you one in exchange for a big chunk of your 401k.

Having grown up in the Volvo capitol of America and owning more than I can remember, including this model, they are for people who do not want the stigma of good looks or performance.

^^^ As I recall, they started in Aloha. A former girlfriend of mine worked for them very early on. Great reputation then, great reputation now.

Good stuff!
A friend is 3 cars into vintage Volvos (2 Amazons and 1 P1800) but is moving to Boise next spring. I can't imagine a big contingent of fellow fanatics there but maybe! He wanted a Cyan but is building a house instead.

Not a bad guess if I do say so myself, although if pressed for something more precise than "break $40K", I'd have gone with $42K. _

A 142 would be fun as hell to drive but then again I've always had no end of fun driving my 145's....and now my 850. There's just something about those wagons...... ![]()

Strong money for that 142, but certainly a great car! Well deserved.
