Flipped off again at a stoplight
 

What is wrong with people? Easily two or three times a week I’m at a stoplight, the light turns green and the car in front of me just sits there while the driver looks at their phone. I generally give a quick beep on the horn to get their attention. I would say at least 30 to 40% of the time the person flips me off. Today it was a girl in a minivan. I just laughed at her. I’m sure these people would not do the same thing if we were face-to-face.

I give them 3 seconds, then I know they're looking down at their phone. Careful, short courtesy honk, might be Russell Crowe!

One of the biggest pet peeves driving a manual in the city.

I get honked at every ****ing light. Light turns green. I clutch. Put the sob in gear. And i get honked at like I'm playing on my ****ing phone.....


Inpatient sobs....

People say Covid 19 is what we need to be worried about.

For me...it's always been other drivers on their phones!

How about when you're only 5 cars back and have to sit through another light sequence because the bone head at the front wasn't paying attention? Grrr

When I drive I expect the guy in front, behind, alongside of me, anybody going the opposite way, pulling out of a parking lot side street or intersection, with turn signals on off or in-between at any intersection to be a bonehead.

People are getting weird. Scary weird. I notice the speed limit has been 100 mph everywhere since the start of Covid.

i've been guilty of losing my mind at a red light. not for my phone, but sometimes just thinking about work or something.

i get the polite toot..sometimes not so polite and i move ahead quickly..quick apologetic wave out the window and i am off.

i'm not a perfect driver. but i try.

I usually have my dinky in hand or am trying to find it.

One way to cure that honk is to have a bumper sticker that says "honk if you like porking the pork..."

Nobody completely stops at stop signs anymore, either.

It's the quick polite toot that's the problem.

Me, I lean into that mother like I'm the Incredible Hulk and make a raging homicidal face so when they look up in their rear view they crap themselves and GTF outa my way.

Generally they are too unsettled to react any other way.

You gotta let them know you mean business.

When I'm behind a friend of mine at a light and it turns green, I like to tap the horn as quickly as humanely possible.

That! If you're gonna go, go all in! :) Maybe even a loud "get your ass in gear" out the window just to up it a little.

What really irks me is folks stopping a car length or two before the light so they can start looking at their phone sooner.

I didn't realize how often I got flipped off until a friend riding in the back seat let me know. Apparently all this anger happens behind me so I'm oblivious to it.

Just don't do it before the light changes. In Michigan they changed to signals that allow left hand turns only while the other lanes are still red. I've seen cars dart out on a red light when some guy in the left turn only lane beeped a sleeper. Burn-out to skidmarks in a split second.

If i'm lead guy in the left turn only lane I purposely stop a car length before the light because more than once a bonehead driver (I know redundant) barely missed my left front fender.

Well I did tell youse Lamb Chops that the '"Swirl of madness was picking up steam" after the 12 election...now it has become so noticeable that a blind mouse can see it happening in the dark.

Unfortunately my opinion and attitude towards people who have heard my sermons and basically ignored them has gone south..really south..

I am like the radio telescope that beams out a signal in the hopes of trying to find intelligent life in the universe...cause there sure ain't none on this planet..
