Ugh...DA-- door ding!

Well this happened over the weekend on my wifes new Lexus.
Can this be fixed via paintless dent removal? Its right on the door body line....

Very likely that PDR can fix this. Now, if there's a paint issue ...

If she's not careful about where she parks you can expect more of the same.

A good PDR person should be able to get that out. They use a tool that slides down the door. They have glue pulls on the outside and use a combination to massage the dent out. I had a few dings on the body line of one of my vehicles. I was amazed at what the PDR guy I used could do. I asked if he minded me watching him work. He had no problem with me being there so I sat quietly and just watched him work dings out of my car.

The guy I used was highly recommended by a local body shop. So if you don't know who to use, you might start with contacting a reputable body shop.

Actually I had this discussion with my wife.....now I sleep in the spare bedroom.....apparently she doesn't see the problem as clearly as I do.....

You had to see what one of my cars looked like after a TX hailstorm.

Golf ball would best describe it.

Amazing what a good PDR guy can do.

Car was perfect afterwards, actually better than before the hail because they took care of a couple of dings that were already there.

Ask a service advisor at a Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, or Audi dealership who's the best PDR guy. Some of them are amazing, and some of them are horrible. Make sure you get a really good one, and yes, a really good one can deal with a body line.

That is true of many service businesses. The good ones are great, and the bad ones can make things worse.

I contacted a local (recommended to me) PDR guy. He showed up last night and gave me an estimate. Surprisingly he said it shouldnt be a problem to fix. The car goes in next Thursday and I will post pictures of the results!!

I have 3 smaller versions of that on the body line on my Jeep Cherokee... virtually the same spot. I'll be interested to see how it comes out and the final cost.

I bought a pdr took kit from eBay. The biggest challenge is getting enough pressure on the ding from the inside. I have 3 dings on the bodyline of my Cherokee. I couldn't really get enough leverage on them to make a difference. But, bodyline dings are the most challenging... even for the pros.

It's a slow, gentle and subtle process, although a couple of door dings on her beautiful new Lexus can expedite that process.

Worked on my wife, who now seeks and properly uses "end spots", and whose most recent car remains ding-free after two and a half years.

I bought one of the hot-melt glue dent kits on Amazon. I was able to make a few dents 'hardly noticeable', which was my goal. Took a ding out of a stainless steel fridge with it also.
