Free Old Ammo

And a box of blanks!

Just pay shipping. I have no idea what this stuff is but I am methodically working through the down-sizing process.

And the blanks, unopened. .38 Short Colt.

I have no use for them, but I turned in a bunch of old random ammo when I cleaned out my grandparents place to the local police - they were happy to dispose of it.

Thank you.

Odd, I would not have thought of that.

That is the route I will go if there are no takers.

Again, thanks.

I had an old Krag Jorgensen but sold it years ago. That's a great round. If you want to go through the motions, throw it up on www.gunbroker.com someone will spend enough $$$ on those for a nice lunch.

They're getting some decent money for vintage ammo. Price it low enough with a BIN and you'll be shyttin in tall cotton.....

I have a krag but it would be smart to see how the cartriges can be shipped

https://www.ups.com/us/en/help-center/packaging-and-supplies/special-care-shipments/hazardous-materials/shipping-ammunition.page

it seems you can't ship it thru the normal mail, USPS, but UPS will take it

I was surprised too, but they took it. Now, this was 20 yrs ago in a very small town, so perhaps not the same everywhere, but worth a shot.

I've been using .30-40 Krag brass to reform into .40-70 Sharps Straight for my Winchester Highwall, made in 1885. On the right, with a .45-90 on the left for comparison (both with 400 grain bullets):

I inherited my krag from my father. I still shoot it occasionally. It seems to shoot about 4 inches to the left at 100 yards after 3 shots. The barrel gets warm and something must make it bend to shoot left. I havn't had time to find out why its doing this.

Otto, I got your PM. Here is the deal: I will send you the ammo and you can buy me lunch when you make it through my area.

PM your address.

I'll let you folks know if I find anymore interesting stuff. I inherited a lot of gun related equipment I am just starting to inventory.

Even my Son is a little overwhelmed.
