California bound, what to do?

Wiife and I are coming to LA next week. My sil has a bunch of things planned. Peterson. ACM new museum, Universal tour, ete, etc. Musso and Franks. But, are there any car related things going on in the area? Thanks for any help here.

Peterson has a new exhibit. Check their website.

I don't know if it's possible but how about a Jay Leno garage tour?

Years ago they had monthly tours but I can't see anything recent via a Google search.

Angeles crest highway. Newcomb’s ranch
Pacific coast highway
Mulloholland at night
I think Wednesday’s were classic car night at the bob’s big boy in Burbank.
The rock inn
See if there’s a concert at the Hollywood bowl or a movie at the forever cemetery.

The Yamashiro, Dresden, Formosa, roscoes chicken and waffles.

I know this sounds Geeky but I'd like to a celebrity mansion tour.

I spent a horrible summer in my 20s driving a Beverly Hills stars homes tour van.

Do NOT DO THIS.

Everything is great, but Roscoe's. Yuck.

check out observatory and cruise down Hollywood blvd and see the weirdos.

Newcomb's is closed but the drive is worth if canyon driving is your thing.

Yeah, so true. Don't fall for those maps neither.

Venice Beach is full of bums. Go elsewhere such as Malibu or beaches down south in Orange County.

If you really have an itch to drive the Crest, do it during the week days between 10am-2pm while everyone's at work. If you must drive the twisties, get over the hill on Angeles Forest Hwy, N3. Once over or near the top, , there's little to no traffic on your way down into the desert. Its a 60 mile twisting and turning drive. I grew up training for bike races and driving those roads.

Friends and I would hit Newombs a couple times a year. I lived in the Temecula area and started going there from the east side thru Wrightwood. Taking the eastern approach was never a problem except for one winter where there was some icy spots in the shade. I really had to tiptoe on my Concourse that day. With coming up from Pasadena on any Saturday you really are taking a risk with an accident with some squid.

Porsche Experience Center in Irvine!

If you can catch a Supercar Sunday gathering up in the valley, it’s worth a drive. Last time I was there, someone rolled up with a RUF yellowbird.

The Unstock Porsche car show is in Huntington Beach this weekend. Drive down Pacific Coast Highway and enjoy all the cars.

When visiting my grandparents in West Hollywood I always enjoyed getting breakfast by wandering the farmers market...

mattdavis11 11-10-2021 06:40 AM

What about a homeless tour? See some nifty encampments, shed a few bills...
