Interesting article on King George III

I was reading the article in this month's Smithsonian magazine about our last king. Interesting how he was vilified as a tyrant, when that might not actually have been the case if this article is correct. I really like this magazine.

Good read. Thanks!

I had a subscription to their magazine for a number of years. It was always a fine publication.

I used to get the paper magazine. I was able to use Continental FF points for a free subscription. I now get an email that usually has links to 5-10 articles. They have so many interesting articles that I want to read that I'm pretty sure I'm a thousand behind.

The Royal Proclamation of 1763 charts the course for how the British Colonies (and later, Canada) is "supposed" to work with Indigenous Peoples (shame on us for losing the narrative). The quotations in the linked article shed some interesting illumination on the ideas behind it.

Thanks for the share!
