We're using Youtube TV at $65/month. It's still so much cheaper than DirecTV that the cost doesn't seem out of line. Plus it's nice having it where ever you go.
Of course when you add Netflix, Prime, Disney, etc, we're probably getting close to what DirecTV was.

I've been doing some research and I'm getting frustrated! I have my "sports loft" set up for 7.2 surround. None of the streaming services seem to offer anything more than 2 channel stereo for live programming. So if I'm watching sports and want some good loud "like you're there" sound and want it to be in surround mode, I'm wasting money going with a 7.2 receiver. Then there's the wasted money on the 4K firestick because none of them broadcast in native 1080 from what I'm seeing. Seems they're all 720 Dammit!

They used to broadcast in 5.1 if you had Win10 and used their app. That may have stopped though and expect everyone to just stream it web based.

From what I've been seeing, on demand libraries will tend to stream more in 5.1 but live tv can be hit or miss with most streaming in 2 channel stereo. I think you can buy a receiver that will up convert but it's not true 5.1
