Best products under $500 to make life more fun...
I buy stuff under $500 without running it by my wife. Cars not so much. Either with her permission or without it is a challenge. The last two products I have bought are studded tires for my mountain bike and a vacuum cleaner. I can truly say these make life more fun and easier.

There's a lot but off the top of my head, an AMC Movies A List subscription. $24/month to see 3 movies every week. Going to the movies a lot is enriching in so many ways. The movies themselves and gets me out and about and more times for dinner with friends who go too. Experiences vs. stuff too.

You could buy a second hand aluminium dinghy for under $500 and go Vash style fishing in in. Good for the mind to be in your own space out on the water.
