Landlords…best place to advertise?
Where have you experienced a good response from? free or paid advertising. Currently I’m doing Craigslist and FB marketplace. By far Marketplace has been a clear winner with regard to the number of contacts.

Im not sure if it is still relevant, but the last 3 we listed were through Zillow .
That was 2 years back, we got pretty strong response, and rented all 3 within a few weeks of listing. It was free back then, I think they charge now. I think I am going to sell off one more unit, and stay in the game a little bit longer with fewer properties .

Zillow.
It cross posts automatically to Zillow, Trulia and Hotpads. 6-7 years ago it was pretty much just CL. I haven’t used CL in a few years because I found the types of tenant inquiries I was getting wasn’t so great. |

If it is a condo then on the main floor notice board. That has worked for me. Also kijiji.
Would suggest getting references. From relatives, banks, friends. Not just warm bodies. You need qualified decent people. |

I don't do FB. Been using Apartments and Zilliow.
The first no problems. A few months ago on the last round, Zillow tried to become the middleman: -They wanted multiple digital signatures about discrimination etc. blah blah. I've had every type of renter, money is green, but a few of their applicants seemed to be 'fishing' and disappeared after I wanted stuff local on paper and face-to-face and more information. People are sketchy and it could have been a coincidence. -They wanted all emails and calls to be routed through their own recorded system. -I didn't consent to recordings (MI is 2-party) but there was my voice on the account after the fact. -They pushed applicants who had 'already completed the application and background check and ready to move in'. WTF. None of that was mine. -In order for my company to even view these 'applications', they wanted to do a credit check on me first.

I list my rentals on Zillow. Use to be free, just started charging, still reasonable. They will automatically list on Hot Pads as well as Trulia when doing so. When they go live, takes about 5 minutes, phone starts ringing. Also, I use mysmartmove.com to screen prospective tenants. It is awesome. If you would like to discuss more, send me a pm with a number and will call you.
