I don't think even deleting a user would kill all their posts.

Someone with access to the database could, though I don't know the specifics of what PP uses .... nor do I actually care .

If Vash bails ..... unplug the servers

I "think" I remember who it was that individually deleted their thousands of posts many years ago ... but they are still here when I just searched on that person.... but I might be getting senile and disremember

OJU has not posted for quite a while. But he also changed names, because of a divorce.
I have been on the board long enough to recognize the screen name Scrappy and to have a feel for his online persona. Sorry to hear of his passing and doubly sorry to hear of his less than happy backstory. Godspeed to Scrappy all of us when we reach our end. I do hope OJU is doing well and he’s able to come back and post from time to time.

When one posts on the internet, one should presume the post will never go away.
That’s Day 1 of Internet 101.

Paul when you talk to OWP tell him Bill says hi and I hope he and his family are doing well.

Thanks!

Just stop logging in. Have some self control.

When business is good I barely have time to be messing with forums.

When business is bad I have even less time.

I suspect business is going to be bad again soon, then I will dissappear again due to lack of free time.

Fighting to keep a business afloat is a lot harder than keeping up with the demand when you are busy.

I was barely in here. If not at all. From 2010 to about 2014.

Unless you're really cramming for some kind of legal reason to delete your posts.....

just stop logging in and stop looking. Anything else is just your ego or some other part of your brain searching for an unnecessary solution to a problem that doesn't actually exist.

I did a year or two without logging in and it was very helpful. I came back and it turns out I'm still dumb and say stupid sht but I'm getting better. Maybe.

If that were the case one would think the better approach might be to discreetly contact an admin or moderator off line, rather than an ineffectual attention-seeking public post headlined “How Do You Leave PP Forums.”

Not sure if it applies to PP forums, California has a right to be forgotten law.

Making this thread is the opposite to deleting your posts.

It's worse than that. Posts that I made on Compuserve and Delphi forums from the late 80's and early 90's can be found on the Internet. Luckiky, I behaved.

If I do nothing...PP logs me off after 6-10 minutes of inactivity.
That's how I do it.

Anyone have a clue why John bailed out? Just seems out-of-the blue....

One of the sharpest, most analytical posters here over all these years and I really enjoyed reading his perspectives.

Fare ye well John .... if ya do happen to lurk back in.

Hope you return too
